There is no single best Bloodborne-on-PC preset: the right settings depend first on which project you are using. The Linux upstream project shadPS4 is an experimental PlayStation 4 emulator, while bbport is a separate project for Bloodborne v1.09 that targets Linux x86-64 and a Vulkan 1.3 GPU. The graphics advice below applies to bbport’s documented Linux build, not to shadPS4 or every PC setup.
First identify the project and operating system
“Bloodborne on PC” can mean different projects with different requirements and graphics controls. Do not transfer settings or compatibility claims from one to the other.

For shadPS4, start with its current project documentation and expect experimental compatibility rather than a guaranteed performance target. Its setup requires a lawful game dump and essential PS4 system modules; the project describes installing firmware modules and retail package files. Use only game files you are legally entitled to use. See shadPS4’s project site for current compatibility and setup details. Crashes and glitches can occur.
For bbport, the upstream repository says it does not include game files. Its stated target is a decrypted Bloodborne CUSA03173 dump at v1.09. The Windows fork also requires a user-provided decrypted dump, but that does not change its stated inability to reach the first frame. How to choose graphics settings in bbport
The bbport in-game menu exposes an upscaler, preset, sharpness, output resolution, and individual visual effects. Documentation establishes the controls, not a universally best combination: performance and image quality depend on the computer and project version. Start with defaults and tune for your own frame pacing and clarity instead of assuming a preset guarantees a particular frame rate.
Use a controlled adjustment process
- Open bbport’s in-game graphics menu and note the current defaults before changing anything.
- Choose one setting to adjust, then compare the same area of the game before and after the change. Look at frame pacing and image clarity, not just whether the average image looks sharper.
- Keep a short record of the option and value you changed so you can identify what helped or caused a problem.
- If a change causes instability or a worse result, revert that option before trying another. Avoid changing several options at once; doing so makes it harder to identify the cause.
What the controls affect
- Output resolution: Sets the displayed output size. Lowering it can be a reasonable first experiment if performance is inadequate, but the result depends on the system and should be checked for image softness.
- Upscaler and preset: Select the upscaling method and its available preset. Compare clarity and stability in the same scene after changing them.
- Sharpness: Adjusts perceived edge definition. It is an image-quality choice, not evidence of a faster configuration.
- Visual effects: Options include chromatic aberration, depth of field, motion blur, SSAO, antialiasing, and screen-space reflections. Disabling or changing an effect may alter the look and may affect performance, but the project documentation does not establish a universal gain for each option.
- Model level of detail: Changes model detail. Check both appearance and performance after adjusting it.
Current bbport recommendations for Steam Deck and NVIDIA
bbport’s 2026 release notes give platform-specific guidance, not a general benchmark or a promise of a particular frame rate.

The new memory model is off by default. The 2026 notes describe limited testing—on the author’s RX 7800 XT PC and a Steam Deck—and warn that it may crash. That narrow testing does not establish its behavior on other hardware. Unless you are deliberately testing it and can revert the change, leave it disabled.
Why a fixed 60 fps setting cannot be promised
The available project documentation does not establish a broadly applicable Bloodborne-on-PC frame-rate figure or a universal preset that delivers 60 fps. A recommendation tied to one project, platform, or hardware configuration should not be presented as a result for all PCs. Emulator and port behavior can also change as builds and game compatibility evolve, so confirm settings against the documentation for the project version you are actually running.

Controller and hardware considerations
bbport documents controller selection and remapping, so a PC-compatible gamepad is an optional accessory rather than a graphics requirement. No particular controller model is established as tested or recommended by the project information cited here.
For bbport, the stated platform requirements are Linux x86-64 and a Vulkan 1.3 GPU. Those requirements do not specify a universally suitable GPU model or memory tier, so they are not enough to justify a one-size-fits-all hardware recommendation.
