There is no official, universally best sensitivity or keybind setup for Fortnite Reload Solo. Start in Menu → Settings, open the tab for your input device, and tune from settings you already control comfortably. Options can vary with the mode selected in the lobby or currently being played, so make changes in the mode you intend to use.
What to optimize for in Solo Reload
Epic Games Store describes Reload as a 40-player mode with Battle Royale and Zero Build variants, and lists Solo, Duo, and Squad play. In Solo, your setup should let you aim and turn reliably while keeping your controls usable through the end game, when reboots and survival decisions matter. The player count and mode details are from Epic Games Store’s 2024 description: Fortnite Reload.

Choose settings by input device and platform rather than copying a single preset. Mouse-and-keyboard players can adjust mouse sensitivity and key assignments on PC; controller players use the controller settings tab. PC rendering options such as Performance Mode are separate from console control settings.

- Open Fortnite’s game menu and select the gear icon to open Settings.
- Select the tab for your input method: Keyboard Controls for keyboard and mouse, or the controller settings tab for a controller.
- On PC, use the controller configuration box to choose the controller you are using, if applicable.
Epic notes that settings depend on the mode selected in the lobby or the mode currently being played. Nintendo Switch does not have a keyboard settings tab. See Epic’s control settings instructions.

Mouse and keyboard: tune sensitivity, then assign comfortable keys
Find a sensitivity you can control
Epic’s guidance points players to settings for their input method; it does not establish a numerical sensitivity that is best for Solo Reload. Avoid treating a creator’s sensitivity, mouse DPI, or eDPI as an authoritative recommendation unless it comes with current, attributable evidence that fits your setup.
Use a repeatable tuning process instead:
- Begin with your current settings if you can aim and turn comfortably in other modes.
- Change only one sensitivity variable at a time, making a modest adjustment rather than replacing several values at once.
- Play actual Reload matches and check whether you can track targets and turn as needed without routinely overshooting or struggling to follow movement.
- Keep a change only if it feels more controllable for you; otherwise, return to the previous value and test a different adjustment.
This is a practical method, not an Epic-recommended preset or a tested Solo Reload configuration. Mouse, surface, habits, and personal comfort all affect what feels usable.

Set keybinds around your movement
Open the Keyboard Controls tab to assign functions to keys. Epic’s keybind article also says to scroll to Creative Input Actions to customize those actions; that named section is for Creative actions, not the only place to change keybinds. The Epic keybind instructions explain the available customization path.

Controller: use the controller settings tab
Open Settings from the game menu and choose the controller tab. On PC, select the controller you actually use in the configuration box when that option is available. Available settings can depend on the selected or active mode, so review them in the mode you plan to play. Epic’s support page covers this navigation and notes that Nintendo Switch has no keyboard settings tab: How to adjust Fortnite controls.
No official numerical controller sensitivity or dead-zone value is established as best for Reload Solo. Start from your own comfortable configuration and adjust one value at a time. In matches, look for a balance between controlled aim and turning quickly enough for your play; keep only changes that improve your control. This is a player-specific tuning method, not a sourced game mechanic or a validated preset.

PC performance: what Performance Mode can and cannot promise
On PC, Epic says Performance Mode may increase frames per second (FPS); it does not promise a particular frame rate or improvement on every computer. Epic describes the mode as using lower graphical fidelity, so it is an option to consider when performance matters more to you than visual detail. The setting path is:
- Open Fortnite Settings and select the Video tab.
- Under Rendering Mode, choose Performance.
- Select Apply, then restart Fortnite.
These are Epic’s documented steps and qualified performance claim: Enable Performance Mode in Fortnite. The instructions do not establish a guaranteed FPS gain or a measured reduction in input lag.
Best Value
- Feel you in-game actions and environement simulated through haptic feedback
- Experience varying force and tension at your fingertips with adaptive triggers
- Chat online through the built-in microphone
- Connect a headset directly via the 3.5mm jack
- Switch voice capture on and off using the dedicated mute button
Optional: remove high-resolution textures
Epic says removing high-resolution textures saves over 15 GB of installation space and may help computer performance. Treat this as an optional PC storage or performance choice, not a universal fix. The same Performance Mode support page covers the option.
Quick Recap
Quick setup checklist
- Use the settings tab for your input device; do not assume every option appears on every platform.
- For mouse, controller, or keybind adjustments, start from familiar settings and change one variable at a time.
- Evaluate changes in actual matches, keeping them only when they improve your own control.
- On PC, consider Performance Mode if you prefer lower graphical fidelity in exchange for a possibility of higher FPS; apply and restart the game.
- Do not expect a copied sensitivity, new peripheral, or rendering change to guarantee better aim or a specific frame rate.
