You usually don’t need an add-on to capture a long web page in Firefox on Windows. Press Ctrl+Shift+S, choose Save full page, then save the image or copy it. Firefox’s built-in Screenshots tool is the easiest option; Developer Tools provide extra capture controls when you need them.
Capture a full page with Firefox Screenshots
- Open the page you want to capture in Firefox.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S, or right-click an empty part of the page and choose Take Screenshot.
- Choose Save full page. To capture less, choose the visible area, select a region, or select a page element.
- Save the image to Firefox’s default download folder or copy it to the clipboard.

When to use Developer Tools instead
Developer Tools are useful if you want a command-line capture with options such as a delay, device-pixel ratio, filename, or CSS selector. Mozilla documents both full-page and single-element screenshots. Firefox Developer Tools: Taking screenshots.
Enable the screenshot button
- Open Developer Tools.
- Open Developer Tools Settings.
- Under Available Toolbox Buttons, enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Use the new toolbar button to capture the page. The image is saved to Downloads.
Use the Web Console helper
In the Web Console, enter :screenshot --fullpage to capture the entire page. The helper also accepts --clipboard, --delay, --dpr, --file, --filename, and --selector. For example, :screenshot --fullpage --delay 2 --filename page.png waits two seconds before capture and saves it under that filename. Check the Console’s helper output for option syntax in your Firefox version. Reusing a filename can overwrite an earlier capture.

Which Firefox method should you choose?

For most one-off captures, start with Screenshots. Switch to Developer Tools when you need repeatable command options or a selected element.
Do you need a third-party add-on?
Not for the basic job: Firefox already provides full-page capture, along with visible-area, region, and element selection. Current availability, maintenance, compatibility, and permissions for individual third-party add-ons are not established here, so it would be misleading to recommend a specific extension. If you evaluate one yourself, check its current Firefox Add-ons listing, permissions, update history, and compatibility before installing.

Privacy and practical caveats
Mozilla says Screenshots telemetry includes interaction events such as using Copy or Save full page, but “We never collect data such as the URL or details of the image captured.” See Mozilla’s Screenshots privacy information for its explanation.
