What changed in Title Update 3.2
Capcom says Title Update 3.2 included optimization improvements and revised the PC system requirements. Producer Oyama said Capcom had worked on performance optimization for more than half a year after release and planned additional improvements through engine updates and incremental changes. A September 2, 2026 update report lists new PC options: Foliage Density, Terrain Quality, Ray Tracing GI Quality, Ray Tracing GI Shading Quality, Swaying Grass Quality, CPU Saving Mode, and NPC Culling. The report says the two CPU-focused options may improve CPU performance, but does not quantify their effects across hardware. It also notes that Capcom did not detail every optimization. How to find the right settings for your PC
Compare the same scenes
Check one populated city and one open-world location. Earlier independent testing described cities as particularly CPU-limited, while open-world scenes put more work on the GPU; that guidance predates Title Update 3.2, so use it as a useful comparison rather than a current benchmark result. For each comparison, note the scene and activity, output resolution and upscaling mode, ray-tracing and foliage or terrain settings, visible stutter or low-frame behavior, and image clarity. This is a practical way to judge trade-offs, not a standardized benchmark protocol.
Try a 60 FPS cap
If frame pacing feels uneven, try limiting the game to 60 FPS. A cap does not make the PC render more efficiently, but PC Gamer’s earlier guide says a lower limit can feel more consistent on budget and mid-range systems. Reduce GPU load with resolution or upscaling
If the GPU is the limiting factor, test render resolution and the game’s available upscaling options before lowering every visual setting. Resolution has a substantial effect on graphics load, but aggressive upscaling at 1080p can make the image look poor. For a performance-first comparison, try ray tracing off. Title Update 3.2 adds separate Ray Tracing GI Quality and Ray Tracing GI Shading Quality controls, so players who want to retain ray-traced lighting can compare those settings rather than treating ray tracing as a single all-or-nothing choice. The available update summary does not establish the performance cost of particular values.

Foliage Density, Terrain Quality, and Swaying Grass Quality are also available in the updated settings menu. Lower them one at a time if you need to test whether they help in your repeatable scene; no universal FPS improvement for these controls is established in the cited update reporting. Test CPU Saving Mode and NPC Culling without assuming a gain
Try CPU Saving Mode and NPC Culling if city scenes are your main problem, then compare the same location and activity with each option changed separately. The available reporting identifies them as potential CPU-performance options but gives no measured gain across systems, so keep whichever setting improves your experience without unacceptable visual or gameplay trade-offs. Check requirements, but do not treat FPS notes as guarantees
Capcom says Title Update 3.2 revised PC requirements. The Steam listing currently surfaced for the game gives these specifications and performance notes, but may not reflect every post-update revision. These are the current figures surfaced in the Steam listing, not an independently verified post-update benchmark. Check the live listing and Capcom’s current requirements before using them to assess a specific PC.
Reset the configuration if edits cause problems
Capcom advises lowering in-game settings when performance is slow or the game does not launch properly. If configuration edits cause trouble, its reset procedure is to close the game, preserve the existing file under a backup name, and restore the default configuration. - Close Dragon’s Dogma 2.
- In the game’s configuration folder, rename
config.initoconfig_backup.ini. - Copy
config_default.iniand rename the copyconfig.ini. - Relaunch the game and adjust settings in-game.
