There is no single best Deadlock preset for every PC. Start with native resolution and your display’s highest refresh rate, remove distracting effects if they make fights harder to read, and lower demanding options only when frame rates are unstable. Then test changes in comparable play and keep only what improves your own visibility and consistency.
Start with a clear, stable baseline
Use your display’s native resolution and select its highest available refresh rate. This preserves the display’s intended image and lets it refresh as quickly as it supports; it does not guarantee that the game will render frames at that rate.

Deadlock’s menus and options can change between updates. Valve’s City Never Sleeps update describes readability changes, dedicated visual, audio, and control accessibility options, and a video-settings preview. Check the current menus rather than assuming an older guide’s labels still match your build.

Which graphics settings should you change?
For a competitive starting point, prioritize a readable scene and stable frame delivery over maximizing every quality slider. ProSettings’ recommendations are third-party guidance, not official Valve guarantees or a controlled benchmark.

- Ultra-fast LIGHTSPEED wireless technology gives you a lag-free gaming experience, delivering incredible responsiveness and reliability with 1 ms report rate for competition-level performance
- G305 wireless mouse boasts an incredible 250 hours of continuous gameplay on just 1 AA battery; switch to Endurance mode via Logitech G HUB software and extend battery life up to 9 months
- Wireless does not have to mean heavy, G305 lightweight mouse provides high maneuverability coming in at only 3.4 oz thanks to efficient lightweight mechanical design and ultra-efficient battery usage
- The durable, compact design with built-in nano receiver storage makes G305 not just a great portable desktop mouse, but also a great laptop travel companion, use with a gaming laptop and play anywhere
- Try turning off V-Sync, bloom, and depth of field. These are common first adjustments if you notice distracting glow, blur, or delayed-feeling input. Whether they help depends on your display and system.
- Reduce fog and screen-space ambient occlusion if performance or visibility is a problem. Fog can make distant scenes harder to read, while ambient occlusion adds shading that may be costly on some systems.
- Do not automatically set every shadow option to low. Shadows can consume performance, but they can also provide visual cues about enemies and the environment. ProSettings suggests medium shadow quality as a balance; a community PvP profile instead lists low shadows.
- Keep render quality at 100 initially. If less demanding options are not enough to stabilize performance, try an available upscaling option before reducing render quality. Names and availability may change with patches.
For display mode, choose fullscreen or borderless based on how you use your PC. ProSettings reports no performance difference between the two in its guide and suggests borderless if you frequently switch apps; a community profile recommends fullscreen for PvP. Neither recommendation establishes a universal performance advantage.
Choose a profile by the trade-off you want
These are tuning directions, not official presets or guaranteed settings. The two third-party guides disagree on shadows, which illustrates why a setting that suits one PC or player may not suit another.

| Approach | Frame-rate stability | Target and background clarity | Shadow cues | Image smoothness and comfort |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Competitive starting point | Reduce costly effects if performance is unstable; verify with the in-game telemetry HUD. | Try disabling bloom and depth of field, and reducing fog if it obscures targets. | Consider lower shadows for performance, but check whether losing detail makes enemies harder to locate. | Prioritize responsive, readable play over extra effects; retain the controls that feel precise to you. |
| Balanced | Lower only the settings linked to instability rather than reducing every quality option. | Remove effects that distract you while retaining detail that helps you read the scene. | Try medium shadow quality, as ProSettings recommends for a quality/performance balance. | Keep native resolution and tune the remaining options around comfort. |
| Visual quality | Retain higher-cost effects only if your frame rate remains stable in play. | Keep visual effects you find useful or appealing, then remove any that conceal targets. | Retain more shadow detail if it helps you understand the scene. | Favor the image presentation you prefer, while checking that controls and frame delivery remain comfortable. |
Settings For Games describes PvP, balanced, and visual-quality profiles and marks its recommendations as researched in August 2026. It aggregates other guides, so it is a secondary configuration reference rather than an official Valve preset or independent test. ProSettings’ guide was last modified March 5, 2026 and also notes that performance varies by system and patch.

Mouse sensitivity and zoom
Choose a sensitivity that lets you make precise adjustments without fighting your own movement. Higher sensitivity is not automatically better. ProSettings suggests a zoom sensitivity ratio of 1 as a starting point, but your comfort and consistency should decide the final value.

- Next-gen 12,000 DPI HERO optical sensor delivers unrivaled gaming performance, accuracy and power efficiency
- Advanced LIGHTSPEED wireless gaming mouse for super-fast 1 ms response time and faster than wired performance
- Ultra-long battery life gives you up to 250 hours of continuous gaming on a single AA battery
- Lightweight mechanical design and classic shape for maximum maneuverability, durability and comfort
- Compact, portable design with convenient built-in storage for included USB wireless receiver
Camera field of view
ProSettings prefers a 90-degree camera FOV. Treat that as a value to try, not a universal standard: a wider or narrower view changes how much of the scene you see and how targets appear on screen.
Crosshair
Keep the crosshair easy to find without letting it cover the target. A thick crosshair can obscure enemies; one that is too small may disappear amid combat effects. Test its size and color against the scenes you actually play.

Accessibility and video preview
Look through the current visual, audio, and control accessibility options if readability or input comfort is a concern. Valve’s update also describes a video-settings preview that briefly makes the settings menu transparent, allowing you to see the effect of changes. Use the available preview in your current build when comparing visual options.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteHow to get more FPS in Deadlock without guessing
- Open Settings > Game > Telemetry and enable the telemetry HUD. Steam Support identifies this path for Deadlock’s Source 2 telemetry. The HUD can show frame rate and network conditions, helping you distinguish rendering trouble from a connection issue.
- Observe a comparable stretch of play. Note the frame rate and network state before changing anything. Use similar scenes or combat situations for each comparison so that a busier fight is not mistaken for a setting-related change.
- Change one or two graphics options. Start with effects that are costly or distracting for you, such as fog, ambient occlusion, or blur-oriented post-processing. Avoid changing many options at once, since that makes it harder to tell what helped.
- Check both the numbers and the image. See whether frame delivery is more stable, and whether targets remain easy to read. Keep a change only if it improves your actual experience.
This is a practical comparison method, not a controlled benchmark; no specific FPS gain is guaranteed. Steam Support notes that manually changing a game’s video options may increase FPS, while also stating that it does not support that manual process. Its software performance troubleshooting material points users with older or integrated graphics toward launch settings that lower resolution or DirectX level. Follow official guidance for your situation, and avoid treating anecdotal launch flags, configuration-file edits, or registry changes as generally safe fixes.

- Fatigue Killer with Ergonomic Design - Solid frame with a streamlined and general claw-grip design offers a satisfying and comfortable gaming experience with less fatigue even though after hours of use.
What to do when the right settings still feel wrong
- Frame rate is unstable: Check the telemetry HUD first, then reduce demanding effects one or two at a time. Consider upscaling only after less costly options have not been enough.
- Targets are hard to see: Test disabling bloom or depth of field and reducing fog. Revisit shadow quality if lowering it removes useful cues.
- Aim feels inconsistent: Revisit sensitivity and zoom settings, and make sure the crosshair remains visible without covering targets. There is no universal sensitivity value established by third-party recommendations.
- The game looks smooth but play still feels delayed: Compare telemetry and your display setup rather than assuming that fullscreen alone will solve it. Available evidence does not establish fullscreen as universally faster than borderless.
- An option or menu path is missing: Check the current game menus and update-specific notes; labels and availability can change.
