Choose the platform first, then match concurrent slots, server location, mod workflow and the final bill. For a small US group that wants a published dollar price and platform choices, Nitrado is the clearest starting point. For a mod-heavy PC server, Host Havoc and GTX Gaming publish stronger details about Workshop collections, file access, maps, backups and administration. The prices below were checked on October 13, 2026; confirm your exact location, billing term, add-ons, taxes and checkout total before paying.

The pound-denominated Host Havoc and GTX figures are not US prices. Currency, tax, term discounts, locations and add-ons can change the amount charged. Provider statements about speed, uptime or support are marketing claims, not independent performance measurements.
Choose the platform before comparing plans
PC and Steam
GTX explicitly describes a PC/Steam DayZ service. Host Havoc’s inspected page is also PC-oriented and emphasizes Workshop and FTP workflows. These options suit communities that intend to install large mod collections, custom maps or server-side configuration files.

Console
The Nitrado US offer page presents PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch selectors. Treat the selector as a configuration option shown by that page, not as proof that every current console generation or feature is supported. Confirm the exact console, edition and region at checkout.
Bohemia Interactive’s private-console FAQ directs console players to Nitrado for rental and administration: official private-console FAQ. The inspected FAQ is old, so verify current platform support in the provider’s offer page and the relevant console storefront before ordering. PC Workshop mods and console server features are not interchangeable.

How many DayZ slots do you need?
Size for the number of players online at the same time, not the total number of people in your Discord. A server that normally has eight players but occasionally hosts 30 should be planned around the busy event if that event matters to you.
| Community pattern | Practical starting point | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Friends-only sessions | 8–20 slots | Leave headroom for guests and events; compare the provider’s minimum slot tier. |
| Regular public community | 20–60 slots | Peak concurrency, restart policy, moderation tools and backup recovery matter more than nominal capacity. |
| Large scheduled events | 60+ slots | Check memory, CPU policy, map and mod compatibility, and whether the provider supports your target location at that size. |
A slot count is not a performance guarantee. GTX says its plans include up to 10GB of RAM, but also explains that a busy server with a large mod pack may need 12GB or 16GB. That is the provider’s sizing guidance, not a universal DayZ hardware benchmark. Ask what upgrade path is available before committing to a heavily modded configuration.
Location and latency: pick the nearest practical data center
Player distance to the server affects latency and can be more noticeable than a small difference in monthly price. Select a location close to most players, then account for your community’s spread. A New York location may suit an eastern-US group, while Los Angeles may be better for western players; a geographically central site can be a compromise for a nationwide group.
Nitrado’s US page lists locations including New York City, Miami and Los Angeles. Host Havoc lists North American choices including New York, Montreal, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Seattle. GTX’s inspected material provides UK-facing pricing but does not establish US checkout pricing. Check the actual location list for your chosen slot tier: a location visible in a general list may not be available for every game configuration.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Do not infer network quality from a provider’s “low latency,” “fast” or uptime language. Test from the players’ actual regions during a trial or refundable period when one is available, and keep a record of the server address and observed in-game latency before moving a mature community.
Mod, map and administration support
Steam Workshop and collections
For a modded PC server, ask whether the panel can import a Steam Workshop collection, keep mods synchronized and show version or load-order errors. Host Havoc documents Workshop collection support along with mod and mission files. GTX lists Workshop integration, a Mod Manager, community maps and DZSA Launcher syncing. Confirm that the specific collection and map you intend to run are supported; “modded” on a sales page does not guarantee compatibility with every item.
Files, configuration and RCON
FTP and web file management let an administrator edit configuration, upload missions and inspect logs without building a separate deployment process. Host Havoc advertises FTP and file management through its TCAdmin-based panel. GTX lists RCON as well as administration tools. Before ordering, check which files are writable, whether RCON credentials can be rotated, and whether a panel change requires a restart.
Backups and recovery
Host Havoc documents offsite backups; GTX lists offsite backups as part of its feature set. Ask how often snapshots run, how long they are retained, whether you can download them, and whether restoring a backup rolls back player databases as well as configuration. A backup that cannot be restored by an administrator is not a complete recovery plan.

Support and protection
GTX lists DDoS protection and 24/7 support. Those are advertised service features, not an independent measurement of response time or attack capacity. Ask support before purchase about your planned mod collection, migration method, restore procedure and upgrade path; the quality of those answers is useful evidence about operational fit.
Provider-by-provider assessment
Nitrado: the clearest multi-platform starting point
Nitrado is the most straightforward comparison point when you need a US-facing price and a platform selector. The inspected 30-day examples are $12.99 for 8 slots, $16.19 for 10 and $24.99 for 20. The page permits runtimes from 3 through 365 days and displays multiple locations. Select the platform, slot count, runtime and location together; changing any one can change the total.
Its strongest differentiator in this comparison is platform breadth rather than a documented PC mod toolset. Console administrators should validate the exact console generation and current feature set. PC groups should compare Workshop and configuration workflows against the alternatives instead of assuming that a platform selector means equivalent mod support.
Host Havoc: detailed PC mod workflow
Host Havoc’s DayZ page presents 20–80 slots and North American locations spanning New York, Montreal, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Seattle. It documents Steam Workshop collections, mod or mission files, FTP, file management, offsite backups and a TCAdmin control panel. Those details are valuable when one person will actively maintain load order, configuration and custom missions.

GTX Gaming: broad PC tiers and integrated tools
GTX describes PC/Steam plans from 10 to 127 slots, with up to 10GB RAM and 100GB NVMe storage included. Its listed tools include Workshop support, Mod Manager, community maps, DZSA Launcher syncing, RCON, offsite backups, DDoS protection and 24/7 support. UK monthly examples are £10.99 for 10 slots, £15.98 for 20, £24.99 for 30, £44.94 for 60 and £89.92 for 127.
GTX also cautions that 10GB may be insufficient for a busy, heavily modded server and suggests considering 12GB or 16GB. If your design depends on a large collection, ask whether the higher-memory option is selectable at checkout and whether storage, CPU allocation or restart behavior changes with it. The inspected page does not establish US pricing.
Public-hive rules are a separate decision
Do not apply public-hive restrictions automatically to every private community server. Bohemia Interactive’s public-hive hosting rules specifically set constraints for that context:
- Player count may not be set below 30 or above 60.
- The server may not be password-locked.
- Provider-panel automatic restarts must be scheduled at 12-hour intervals—not more frequently or less frequently than every 12 hours.
- Unapproved monetization is prohibited, including examples such as selling in-game items or base locations.
If you intend to join the public hive, read the latest applicable rules and obtain written clarification from the host when a planned setting is ambiguous. A private community arrangement can have different constraints, but it still must follow the current game and platform rules.

- Dress in style on Nasdara, Sakhal, Chernarus or Livonia with our design. Built to survive in the badlands of dayz in any zombie wasteland so take a day off and dress to impress with our low insulation but high cool Z inspired design.
- Compatible with all PC gamers or console players. Game in comfort for dayz. Also a great gift idea for any discerning online survival gamers.
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
- Currency and tax treatment for your billing address.
- Slot count and whether slots can be changed without rebuilding the server.
- Billing term, renewal price and any one-time setup charge.
- Memory or storage upgrades required by your mod collection.
- Selected data center and whether changing it requires migration.
- Backup, database, dedicated-IP, premium-support or other add-ons.
- Cancellation, refund and data-export terms.
For a fair comparison, configure the same slot count, location class, term and required memory at each host. A £10.99 UK plan and a $12.99 US plan cannot be ranked by the number alone, and a low base price can disappear after tax, a short-term billing premium or a memory upgrade.
Purchase checklist: from requirements to a running server
- Write the requirement. Note platform, peak concurrent players, expected mod or map collection, geographic player distribution, restart window and whether the server is public-hive or private.
- Shortlist compatible hosts. Remove PC-only services if you need console, and remove services that cannot provide your required slot tier or location.
- Check the mod path. Confirm Workshop collection import, load-order editing, FTP or file management, map support, RCON and log access before paying.
- Configure memory and storage. Use the provider’s published allocation as a starting point; ask about 12GB or 16GB when a busy modded server exceeds the included 10GB guidance.
- Select the nearest location. Recheck availability for the exact game, platform and slot tier.
- Compare checkout totals. Save screenshots or an invoice showing currency, term, taxes, add-ons and renewal amount.
- Test before migrating. Install the intended collection, connect from representative regions, watch logs and measure restart and restore procedures.
- Document operations. Keep administrator credentials, RCON rotation steps, backup locations, restart schedule and mod versions in a private runbook.
Common failure modes and fixes
The server runs out of memory after adding mods
Reduce the collection to the required items, check logs for failed or duplicated loads, and ask the host about a 12GB or 16GB allocation. Do not treat a slot reduction alone as proof that the mod workload is safe; memory pressure can come from content and scripts rather than concurrent players.
Players see missing or mismatched mods
Compare the server’s collection and load order with the client list, force a clean Workshop update, and verify map dependencies. A host that supports collections or DZSA syncing can reduce manual errors, but you still need to validate each mod’s current compatibility.
Latency is poor for one region
Measure from several players, not only the administrator. If the community is geographically split, choose the location that minimizes the largest group’s latency or move to a central site. Confirm that the replacement location is offered for your exact plan before starting a migration.
A restore does not return the expected world state
Determine whether the snapshot includes player databases, mission files and configuration, then perform a test restore on a maintenance window. Downloadable offsite backups provide an additional recovery path; ask the host how restoration affects active players and scheduled restarts.
The panel’s restart behavior conflicts with your rules
Review automatic restart intervals before enabling them. Public-hive servers have the specific 12-hour constraint described above; private servers still need a schedule that preserves persistence and communicates downtime to players.
Which host should you choose?
- Choose Nitrado when you need a US-facing dollar reference, selectable console or PC platforms, a small slot tier and a location such as New York City, Miami or Los Angeles. Verify current console support and the final recurring total.
- Choose Host Havoc when your priority is a PC mod workflow with Workshop collections, FTP, file management, offsite backups and a TCAdmin panel. Validate the GBP-to-local-currency checkout and your exact collection.
- Choose GTX Gaming when you want PC/Steam tiers from 10 to 127 slots and an integrated set of Workshop, map, launcher-sync, RCON, backup and support features. Budget for more than the included 10GB RAM if your busy modded server needs it, and request a local quote rather than converting the UK examples yourself.
The decisive comparison is the fully configured bill and operational workflow for your community—not a universal ranking. Start with platform and public-hive eligibility, then buy enough slots and memory for the peak workload, select a nearby location and test backups before inviting a large player base.
