The best curved monitor depends on whether you want top-tier OLED gaming, a lower-cost ultrawide, or a screen that can charge a laptop over USB-C. For premium performance, Tom’s Guide names the MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 its best curved monitor; TechSpot found the closely related MSI and ASUS premium contenders difficult to separate in panel performance. For budget gaming, PCWorld recommends the Gigabyte GS34WQC, while LG’s 34WR55QC-B emphasizes work-friendly USB-C charging. The picks below reflect those publications’ reported testing and criteria—not a single, directly comparable six-monitor lab test.
Six curved monitors to consider in 2026
| Pick | Best for | Evidence-backed details | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 | Premium all-purpose and gaming | Tom’s Guide lists a 34-inch, 3440 × 1440 QD-OLED panel, 1800R curve, 360Hz refresh, 0.03ms response, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1a, and USB-C with 98W power delivery. Its 2026 testing reports 166.3% sRGB volume, 117.8% DCI-P3 volume, and Delta-E 0.15. | Tom’s Guide flags high price and limited brightness. Its color figures are that publication’s measurements, not independently reproduced here. |
| ASUS ROG Swift PG34WCDN | Premium gaming alternative | TechSpot tested it against the MSI MPG 341CQR X36 and found their panel performance difficult to separate. TechSpot describes the 2026 QD-OLED generation as bringing 360Hz refresh, improved brightness and text rendering, and peak HDR brightness up to 1,300 nits. | TechSpot’s peak-brightness figure applies to the discussed panel generation; it should not be read as a guaranteed result for every monitor or viewing condition. |
| Gigabyte GS34WQC | Budget ultrawide gaming | PCWorld names it its best budget ultrawide gaming monitor, citing good contrast, solid color, and refresh rates up to 144Hz with good motion clarity. | PCWorld notes modest maximum brightness and lackluster HDR. |
| LG 34WR55QC-B | Work and mixed use | LG’s US product page lists a 34-inch curved WQHD display at 3440 × 1440, 100Hz, HDR10, 99% typical sRGB, and USB-C power delivery up to 65W. | Its listed 100Hz refresh is below the gaming-focused premium models; its appeal here is laptop connectivity rather than top-end gaming speed. |
| MSI MPG 341CQPX | High-refresh ultrawide gaming with USB-C charging | PCWorld lists it as its best ultrawide for gaming and describes 240Hz refresh, 98W USB-C power delivery, and strong color performance. | PCWorld notes its stand is large, so check desk space before choosing it. |
| Sixth pick: no adequately supported model | — | The cited sources support five distinct models, not six picks with comparable, adequately attributed evidence. | Adding a sixth model would imply a tested ranking the available evidence does not establish. Use the comparison criteria below to assess another model you are considering. |
Specifications and recommendations can vary by region and exact product variant. Confirm the local model’s connectivity, charging, refresh rate, and current availability before buying.

Which pick fits your priorities?
Choose the MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 for premium gaming and image quality
Its combination of ultrawide 3440 × 1440 resolution, QD-OLED, and 360Hz refresh makes it the strongest documented all-round premium option in this comparison. Tom’s Guide’s color-volume and Delta-E results offer useful evidence for color performance, but they do not erase the publication’s noted brightness and price drawbacks. If you often work in bright conditions or want to minimize cost, those trade-offs matter as much as the headline refresh rate.

TechSpot’s reported testing puts the ASUS ROG Swift PG34WCDN close to the MSI in panel performance. The source does not establish a universal winner between them for every use, so check the precise regional specification and the features that matter to your setup rather than assuming a small performance difference from the category label alone.

- INCREASED VERSATILITY: Connect to more; Plug devices straight into your monitor for increased flexibility, making your computing environment even more convenient
Pick the Gigabyte for a lower-cost gaming direction
The GS34WQC is the value-oriented option among these picks. Its reported 144Hz ceiling and motion clarity make it a credible gaming choice, but modest brightness and weaker HDR are compromises to weigh if you play in a bright room or prioritize impactful HDR highlights.
Choose LG when laptop charging and everyday work matter more
The 34WR55QC-B’s stated 65W USB-C power delivery can reduce desk cable clutter for a compatible laptop: one USB-C connection may carry display data and charge the computer. Verify that your laptop supports video over USB-C and that 65W meets its charging needs. Its 100Hz refresh suits mixed use, but it is not positioned as the high-refresh gaming option in this shortlist.

Consider MSI’s 341CQPX when 240Hz and 98W USB-C are priorities
PCWorld’s gaming pick adds a different balance: 240Hz and 98W USB-C power delivery, with a large stand called out as a practical desk-space consideration. It sits between the premium 360Hz choices and work-oriented 100Hz LG on refresh rate, but the sources do not provide comparable measured results across all five models.

Match refresh rate to your system and games
A 360Hz or 240Hz display can show more frequent updates than a 100Hz or 144Hz model, but the benefit depends on your computer producing high frame rates and the games you play. The listed refresh rates are maximum specifications, not a promise that a particular system will reach them. Compare the connection and graphics hardware requirements for the exact monitor variant.

Think beyond panel type
The premium choices here use QD-OLED, while the budget and work picks represent different LCD-oriented trade-offs. OLED can bring strong image quality and fast response, but it is not automatically the better work or value purchase: the available reviews specifically flag cost and brightness concerns for the premium MSI. If your priority is document-heavy work, look for source-backed text-rendering findings and assess the exact model in person where possible; TechSpot’s comments about improved text rendering refer to the 2026 QD-OLED panel generation, not a guarantee that all text will look identical to every viewer.
Check brightness and HDR claims carefully
HDR10 support alone does not establish how convincing HDR will look. PCWorld describes the GS34WQC’s HDR as lackluster, while TechSpot reports up to 1,300 nits peak HDR brightness for the discussed 2026 QD-OLED generation. These are not directly comparable measurements across every model, and a peak figure does not describe sustained brightness across the whole screen.

Confirm USB-C charging and desk fit
USB-C power delivery differs materially: LG lists 65W for the 34WR55QC-B, and PCWorld describes 98W for MSI’s 341CQPX. The 341CQR X36 is also listed with 98W USB-C. Match that rating to your laptop’s requirements, and check the stand footprint as well as screen dimensions; PCWorld specifically calls the 341CQPX stand large.
