If you mean a true YouTube Premiere, schedule it in YouTube Studio and select Set as Premiere. Restream and StreamYard document cloud workflows for scheduling prerecorded videos as livestreams, but the available documentation does not establish that either creates YouTube’s native Premiere page. Choose between them only if a livestream—not a Premiere—is what you want.
Premiere or prerecorded livestream: choose the right format
The difference matters to viewers. A native Premiere creates a public watch page before the video begins; viewers can share the page, set reminders, comment, and chat. YouTube describes Premieres as a way for creators and viewers to watch a new video together in real time. A prerecorded livestream service instead broadcasts a recording as live content. That can be useful for scheduled playback, but it should not be presented as the native Premiere experience.

| Option | What it schedules | Advance viewer experience |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Studio Premiere | A video published using YouTube’s Premiere feature | Public watch page, reminders, comments, and chat |
| Restream | A prerecorded video or playlist broadcast as a livestream | Its documentation describes scheduled livestream playback, not a native Premiere page |
| StreamYard | A prerecorded video scheduled to stream to YouTube | An announcement post can provide an advance destination link; without one, a watch-page link may not be available until the stream starts |
How to schedule a native YouTube Premiere
- Open YouTube Studio and upload the finished video. Enter its title, description, audience details, and other video information.
- In the visibility and publishing options, choose Schedule, then set the future date and time.
- Select Set as Premiere. Choose a countdown theme and countdown length if you want them, then schedule the video.
- Share the Premiere watch page with your audience. The page is created in advance, so viewers can visit it, set reminders, and participate when the Premiere begins.
YouTube’s Premiere instructions exclude Shorts, 360/VR180 videos, and output above 1080p. YouTube also notes that an account with a Community Guidelines strike may have a Premiere kept private during the penalty period; the Premiere must be rescheduled after the freeze. Check YouTube Help’s Premiere a new video instructions for current details.
Cloud services for prerecorded YouTube livestreams
These services are relevant if your actual goal is to have a recording go out as a livestream. Their documented workflows are adjacent alternatives to a Premiere, not substitutes for its public Premiere page and countdown.
#1 Best Overall
Restream: schedule a prerecorded event
Restream’s documented workflow lets you choose or upload a video, enter event details including the date and time, select destinations, and create the event. Its guide says the video event airs automatically at the scheduled time; some other destinations may require a manual start. Restream also documents uploaded or imported recordings, playlists, and looping in its Upload & Stream material, and lists video files and playlists as YouTube Live event sources. These capabilities describe livestream playback rather than native YouTube Premiere creation.
Restream’s Upload & Stream article is dated July 25, 2026, and notes that storage is plan-dependent. File, duration, and storage limits can change, so check Restream’s current plan terms before choosing it.
Rank #2
StreamYard: schedule a prerecorded stream
StreamYard’s scheduling guide lists YouTube as a destination that supports advance scheduling and allows a prerecorded video as the source. Its prerecorded-streaming guide describes selecting or uploading a recording, choosing destinations and a date and time, and optionally scheduling an announcement post. The guide says that without an announcement post, a watch-page link may not be available until the stream goes live. This is a scheduled livestream workflow, not evidence of native Premiere creation.
Which option fits your goal?
- Choose YouTube Studio when viewers need the actual Premiere experience: advance watch page, reminders, countdown, comments, and chat.
- Compare Restream and StreamYard when your goal is automated prerecorded livestream playback. Check YouTube destination support, how viewers get an advance link, whether an announcement is available, and current plan and file limits.
- Do not assume the formats are interchangeable. Confirm current service documentation before relying on a third-party tool to create a native Premiere; the workflows described here establish scheduled livestreaming, not that capability.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want a recording to keep playing as a 24/7 YouTube livestream rather than schedule a one-time Premiere, StreamNeo is a separate option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud; it does not create a native YouTube Premiere or stream from a camera.
