First, distinguish multiple channels from multistreaming

How to choose for your channel setup
Count simultaneous independent feeds
List the YouTube channels that must be live at the same time, and count one distinct playlist or source per channel. Match that total to the service’s concurrent stream or slot limit. Do not assume a service’s destinations-per-feed number means it can operate that many independent channel schedules.
Match the schedule to the programming
- Continuous loop: a repeating playlist may be enough for a channel that runs the same rotation day and night.
- Recurring shows: calendar recurrence is useful for daily, weekly, or monthly programming. Check whether the service can return to a base loop after a scheduled show and whether it provides a fallback if a scheduled item is unavailable.
- One feed, several destinations: this is distribution, not separate channel playout. Confirm which destinations are supported and whether your use case needs one feed or separate feeds.
Compare the actual cost basis
Compare monthly costs only after accounting for how many feeds run concurrently, billing term, any resolution-based tiers, and storage. YouTube readiness and setup considerations
YouTube says an encoder converts video into the digital format needed to stream. Its encoder directory includes software, cloud, and hardware products, but notes that listed products are not made by YouTube and users should decide which fits their needs. YouTube’s multistream guidance says the channel must be verified and live streaming enabled; enabling a first live stream takes at least 24 hours after the request. A cloud provider handles its own playout or encoding workflow, but you still need to configure the correct YouTube channel and live event, and ensure the service plan covers every distinct feed.
If you encode multiple streams locally instead of using cloud playout, YouTube recommends upload capacity of 1.5–2 times the sum of the target bitrates and advises monitoring stream-health indicators. A cloud service may simplify setup and reduce load on an older computer, especially when streaming to more than two channels or destinations, but it does not remove the need to configure each channel correctly.
Copyright, reused content, and channel policy
Continuous playback does not grant permission to use the underlying video, music, or images. Use media you own or are licensed to stream, and check that the license covers public live streaming on YouTube. A copyright claim or other restriction can interrupt a stream or affect a channel. Review YouTube’s applicable rules for your content and monetization plans; 24/7 streaming by itself does not guarantee audience growth or monetization.

Troubleshooting common problems
The channel cannot start a live stream
Check that the YouTube channel is verified and live streaming is enabled. If this is its first activation, allow at least 24 hours after requesting it before expecting live access.
The wrong playlist appears on a channel
Verify that each independent channel is connected to its own intended feed and playlist. A multi-destination setting may distribute one feed rather than create separate channel schedules.
A local multi-stream drops frames or loses connection
Compare your upload capacity with the combined target bitrates: YouTube recommends 1.5–2 times that total. Reduce the target bitrate or number of simultaneous local streams if capacity is insufficient, and monitor YouTube’s stream-health indicators.

A scheduled show does not transition as expected
Check the schedule recurrence, selected playlist or Live Studio source, and per-slot fallback behavior. Calendar scheduling and fallback details differ by provider, so verify the exact options in the plan you intend to use.
A stream stops after media or rights issues
Review YouTube notifications and confirm the rights and permitted use for every video, music track, and image in the playlist. Replace or remove content that is not cleared for the channel’s intended use.
