Best Cloud Services for an Always-On YouTube Live Property Video Playlist

For a prerecorded property playlist on YouTube Live, choose a managed cloud service for simple looping or AWS MediaLive for a custom pipeline. Compare setup, eligibility, stream settings, costs, and recovery.

For prerecorded property videos that need to play continuously on YouTube Live, StreamNeo is the first service to try: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives you a free first day. For a property team that needs custom encoding or a larger AWS-based production workflow, AWS Elemental MediaLive is the more configurable option. YouTube also lists Gyre as a cloud service for 24/7 prerecorded video streams. These are different kinds of tools, so the best fit depends on whether you want a ready-made playlist or a custom media pipeline.

This guide is for looping recorded property footage—such as listing tours, neighborhood clips, and amenity videos—not for broadcasting a live camera feed. The named-service recommendations rely on YouTube’s encoder directory and vendor product descriptions, not hands-on testing; check current features, limits, and terms before committing.

Which cloud service fits an always-on property playlist?

If the job is to upload existing clips, arrange them, and keep them playing on YouTube Live without leaving a computer running, choose a managed cloud playlist service. For StreamNeo, the workflow is to upload the videos, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; it loops the uploaded videos in the cloud. YouTube identifies Gyre as a cloud tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. AWS Elemental MediaLive is a better fit when a technical team needs a configurable encoding pipeline rather than a simple playlist product.

StreamNeo is YouTube-only and plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast a camera feed. If you need to show a live property walkthrough, construction site, or security camera, assess a live-source workflow instead of a prerecorded playlist service.

Option Primary strength Technical effort Cost basis Best fit
StreamNeo Always-on cloud looping of uploaded videos; any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot Upload, add the YouTube stream key, go live Subscription by slot and duration A property owner or small team seeking a straightforward continuous playlist
Gyre Managed cloud playlist and scheduling, as described by Gyre and listed by YouTube Lower than building an encoding pipeline; confirm the vendor workflow and plan limits Vendor plan; current prices and limits can change A team that wants to upload clips, arrange a loop, and schedule a stream
AWS Elemental MediaLive Configurable cloud encoding, input switching, and integration with broader AWS media workflows Higher; design and billing knowledge are needed Usage-based resources and potentially related services A technical team that needs custom switching or already operates AWS media infrastructure
Self-managed cloud encoder Control over software and process Highest ongoing responsibility for operations and recovery Compute, storage, bandwidth, and operator time An operator able to maintain a virtual machine, encoder, monitoring, and credentials

StreamNeo is the #1 choice for this always-on prerecorded YouTube use case because it runs from the cloud, accepts uploaded video up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a first day free. See StreamNeo for current service details.

How to choose for a property video library

1. Managed playlist service: StreamNeo or Gyre

A managed service is the most direct match when the source is a collection of finished property clips and the goal is continuous playback. StreamNeo includes one always-on stream per slot, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. The same features apply across its plans; only the billing length changes. Gyre is also directly presented for uploading prerecorded video, building a looping playlist, scheduling a stream, and running it in the cloud. YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre for this purpose.

For Gyre, verify the current plan details before launch: supported file formats and maximum file sizes, storage quota, concurrent-stream limit, resolution and frame-rate availability, whether playlist changes interrupt a broadcast, alerting and recovery behavior, connection permissions, cancellation and retention terms, and the cost for your stream count and duration. Its vendor page’s trial, storage, quality, and concurrency details can change; check the live page rather than relying on an old quote.

2. Configurable cloud encoding: AWS Elemental MediaLive

YouTube lists AWS Elemental MediaLive in its verified encoder directory. AWS describes a cloud encoding service for live sources and workflows that can schedule or switch inputs; its materials also describe automated deployments that loop an MP4. That makes it credible for a team building a broader production system, but it is not a turnkey playlist service: the operator may need to design the loop and combine MediaLive with other AWS services.

AWS charges for running resources. Inputs, outputs, codecs, resolution, bitrate, frame rate, and related services affect the bill. AWS’s worked live-streaming cost example includes packaging and viewer delivery for a specified region and audience, so it is not a direct quote for an encoder feeding YouTube. Model the exact workflow in current AWS pricing tools and account for storage, data transfer, and any other services you add.

3. Self-managed cloud encoder

A virtual machine running an encoder such as OBS can keep a playlist online without using a managed playlist product, but it transfers responsibility to the operator. YouTube lists OBS as no-charge open-source software; the virtual machine, storage, bandwidth, monitoring, support, and maintenance are separate. The sources cited here do not establish a particular virtual-machine plan as the best option for this use case.

  • Estimate the whole operating cost, including staff time, rather than treating the encoder software as the total cost.

Prepare the YouTube channel and footage

Check live-streaming eligibility

YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until the planned launch. Review YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements before scheduling the playlist.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Confirm rights and policy compliance

All stream content must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and YouTube may remove or restrict a stream. Confirm that you have permission for every element in the playlist: property footage, music, voice-over, photographs, logos, and any third-party material. A property owner’s right to show a building does not by itself establish rights to a photographer’s video or a music track. The sources cited here do not establish rights for any specific property-video library.

Decide whether the stream needs an archive

YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If the continuous broadcast will run beyond 12 hours and a complete replay matters, do not assume YouTube will preserve the full stream as one archive. Keep separate recordings or schedule shorter segments if you need a reliable replay archive.

Set up a stable stream

  1. Build a representative playlist. Include the range of motion, scene changes, and audio levels expected in the real broadcast. Check that clips transition acceptably and that the loop does not create a misleading impression that a recorded tour is happening live.
  2. Connect the YouTube stream. In the encoder or cloud service, select the correct YouTube channel and provide its stream key using the service’s supported connection flow. Treat the key like a password: limit access, do not publish it, and replace it if it is exposed. Stream-key handling and account connection controls vary by service, so verify them before going live.
  3. Prefer RTMPS where supported. YouTube says RTMPS encrypts data into and through Google’s servers. Choose it if the service or encoder offers it, and confirm the stream destination and key are correct.
  4. Choose a stable video setting. Match resolution and frame rate to the footage and the sustained upload capacity of the sending service. YouTube’s current recommended H.264 bitrate examples are 5 Mbps for 1080p30 and 6 Mbps minimum / 17 Mbps recommended for 1080p60. For AV1 or H.265, its recommendations are 10 Mbps at 1080p30 and 12 Mbps at 1080p60. These are YouTube recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular source or connection can sustain them.
  5. Set keyframes and audio. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. Its RTMP/RTMPS encoder settings support H.264, H.265, or AV1 video and AAC or MP3 audio. Use settings the selected service actually supports and test for sync and intelligibility.
  6. Test before launch. Run a speed test and preflight with footage that has similar motion and audio to the actual playlist. YouTube’s encoder guidance says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” Check the preview and stream health before announcing the channel as live.
  7. Monitor after launch. Check the live status and stream health in YouTube, and confirm the playlist is continuing to advance. For a managed service, determine how it reports a dropped YouTube connection and how recovery works; for a self-managed encoder, assign someone to watch alerts and restart or repair the workflow.

Understand YouTube broadcasts and streams

YouTube distinguishes a broadcast—the watchable video—from a stream, the feed sent by an encoder. Its Live Streaming API guide describes a case where one 24/7 broadcast continues while a second broadcast is temporarily created from the same stream. That separation can matter if you have a specific need for another event video, but it is unnecessary for a single continuous property playlist.

Costs and operational trade-offs

StreamNeo pricing and included service

StreamNeo offers daily, weekly, monthly, six-month, and yearly billing durations:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Daily: $0.99 per day
  • Weekly: $2.99 per week
  • Monthly: $9.99 per month
  • 6 months: $49.99 for 6 months
  • Yearly: $89.99 a year

The first day is free with no card, once per account. Billing can be cancelled at any time. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support. One slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, playlists and 24/7 looping, automatic recovery if YouTube drops, and StreamNeo team support. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality tiers.

Compare total operating responsibility

  • Managed playlist service: subscription and plan limits are the main service variables; confirm stream count, storage, resolution, and recovery details against your workload.
  • AWS: model resource usage and any connected services for the exact architecture; a general example may include costs that do not apply to a YouTube-only playlist.
  • Self-managed VM: include compute, disk, data transfer, backup, monitoring, security updates, and the time needed to maintain the encoder and recover failures.

Common problems and what to check

  • You cannot start a live stream: verify channel status and eligibility, including verification and restrictions in the previous 90 days. If live streaming was only just enabled, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
  • The stream will not connect: check that the selected channel, destination, protocol, and stream key belong together. If the key may have been exposed, replace it and update the service configuration.
  • Video stutters or drops: compare the selected bitrate with sustained sending capacity, run a speed test, and repeat a preflight with representative footage. Reduce the load or choose a more sustainable setting if the sender cannot maintain it.
  • Motion looks poor at the chosen setting: use a resolution and frame rate suited to the source footage; do not select a higher setting merely because the platform supports it. Test scene changes and moving camera shots, not just a static frame.
  • Audio is missing or out of sync: check the source clips and supported audio codec, then test the playlist transitions and sync before launch.
  • A playlist change interrupts playback: verify the service’s change behavior in a trial or test stream. This behavior is not established uniformly across services.
  • The stream stops after a YouTube disconnect: confirm the service’s recovery behavior and alerting before relying on unattended operation. A self-managed encoder needs process supervision and an assigned recovery owner.
  • The full continuous stream is not available as a replay: account for YouTube’s under-12-hour automatic archive guidance; retain separate recordings or use shorter segments if a complete archive is essential.
  • A stream is restricted or removed: review YouTube policy notices and check rights for all footage, music, and other included material before restarting.

Or let it run in the cloud

For an uploaded property-video playlist, StreamNeo keeps the stream running without a computer or home connection staying on. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Uploaded quality is preserved up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot; if YouTube drops the stream, StreamNeo automatically recovers. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month.
