For a continuous YouTube channel built from prerecorded videos of different lengths, StreamNeo is the simplest always-on option: upload the videos, add your YouTube stream key, and start the cloud stream. It loops uploaded videos without keeping a computer running. For a scheduled channel that mixes prerecorded videos with live inserts, Castr’s TV playout is the stronger documented fit. Restream suits a bounded playlist broadcast, not an indefinitely repeating station.
Choose by the kind of “continuous” you mean
A playlist that repeats forever, a channel that follows a changing schedule, and a one-time broadcast of a playlist are different jobs. Mixed video lengths are not, by themselves, a problem for cloud playout: the services below work from uploaded files or scheduled items. Before committing to a lineup, check the provider’s current file compatibility, storage and duration limits, and how it handles transitions between items.

Best for an always-on prerecorded YouTube playlist: StreamNeo
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the content in the cloud, so your computer, OBS setup, and home internet connection do not have to stay on. It streams to YouTube, not other platforms.

Every slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of pooled storage per slot, playlists and 24/7 looping, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. The uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps: the price does not change with quality, and StreamNeo does not re-encode the upload. The same product is included on every plan; only the billing period changes.

When Castr or Restream is a better fit
Choose Castr TV playout for a scheduled channel with live inserts
Castr’s TV playout is designed to schedule uploaded videos, recordings, and live streams into a channel, then route that channel to a livestream destination such as YouTube. It is the clearest fit here if the lineup needs a planned rundown or live segments rather than simply repeating a prerecorded playlist. Castr separately documents continuous looping for its prerecorded livestream product; that 24/7 loop is listed for Premium and higher. Confirm current plan capacities and whether the workflow you need is included before subscribing.
Choose Restream for a finite playlist event
Restream’s playlist feature is better suited to a scheduled broadcast with a defined end. Its Help Center, on a page published July 25, 2026, sets a limit of 24 hours and 40 videos per playlist and says items can only be added, removed, or reordered before the playlist goes live. Those constraints make it less suitable for a never-ending station or a lineup that must be edited during broadcast. Check that your account has an eligible Upload & Stream add-on tier.

Plan around YouTube’s archive and DVR limits
A live link that runs continuously is not a dependable substitute for a complete on-demand archive. YouTube Help says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours “may not be captured at all.” YouTube also says rewind through DVR can be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. If viewers need a replay or reliable rewind, retain separate recordings and publish suitable on-demand videos rather than relying on one uninterrupted live broadcast.
See YouTube’s archive guidance and DVR guidance for the platform’s current details.

Clear the rights and content checks before going live
You are responsible for having the rights needed to broadcast every video and its audio. YouTube’s livestream terms say the provider must have all necessary rights for exploitation of the live content on Google services worldwide, including relevant music licensing rights. A video being available online, or a song being licensed for a different use, does not by itself establish permission for your live channel.
Review YouTube’s livestream terms, confirm permissions for footage, music, and other included material, and remove or replace anything you cannot clear. Also check that your channel is eligible to livestream and that its stream key and destination are configured correctly in the chosen service.

Pre-launch checklist for a mixed-length lineup
- Decide the format: endless prerecorded loop, scheduled rundown with live inserts, or one finite playlist broadcast.
- Inventory the files: check supported formats, per-file and total-duration limits, storage, and whether each video plays as expected. Providers’ current limits can change.
- Check transitions: test what happens at the end of a short clip, between files, and when a file is unavailable; do not assume a particular gap or transition behavior.
- Prepare YouTube: verify livestream eligibility, destination settings, and the correct stream key. Treat the key as private and replace it if exposed.
- Test privately or unlisted: check picture, audio, ordering, and stream recovery before making the channel public.
- Plan archives: keep separate recordings if a complete replay matters, especially for programming that will run longer than 12 hours.
- Document rights: retain permissions for all video, music, and other content in the lineup.
Cost and operating trade-offs
For StreamNeo, a slot has the same price regardless of uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps; the relevant capacity constraint is the 10 GB storage allocation per slot, pooled across active slots. Choose a billing length to match the expected run, and account for the number of simultaneous always-on streams you need. Free planning tools include the upload-time calculator, cloud vs PC cost calculator, and copyright safety checklist.
For Castr and Restream, compare the current plan’s loop or playlist eligibility, file and schedule limits, and destination settings against your actual lineup. Their product limits and plan details can change, so verify them on the linked official pages before paying.
Or let it run in the cloud
Upload your videos, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo keeps the playlist running without a computer or home connection left on; it streams the upload as made up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
