For one prerecorded ASMR soundscape that should loop on YouTube around the clock, StreamNeo is the simplest place to start: upload the video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; it loops from the cloud without leaving a computer running. It supports uploaded video up to 4K at 60 fps at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free with no card. If you want to manage the encoder and its recovery yourself, a cloud virtual machine (VM) sending a stream directly to YouTube is a plausible lower-level architecture. Google Cloud Live Stream API or an AWS media workflow make more sense when you need managed transcoding, packaging, or a broader broadcast pipeline—not merely a loop into YouTube.
There is no established universal best cloud provider for this use case. The right choice depends on how much setup and monitoring you are willing to own, whether you need video processing, and the full cost of the architecture.

Which cloud approach fits a 24/7 ASMR stream?
| Option | Best fit | What you operate |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | A creator who wants uploaded video to loop on YouTube without managing a server or encoder. | Upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and start the stream. StreamNeo handles cloud looping and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. |
| Self-managed cloud VM | A technically comfortable creator with one prepared soundscape and a preference for managing the streaming setup directly. | A VM, encoder, connection to YouTube, and the monitoring and restart handling needed to keep the feed going. |
| Managed cloud video service | A workflow needing managed transcoding, packaging, or distribution beyond a direct feed to YouTube. | Service configuration, channel and resource lifecycle, and—in broader broadcast workflows—multiple media services. |
For a single prerecorded loop, managed media stacks can add components you may not need. Google Cloud Live Stream API and AWS provide documented building blocks, but the available official material does not establish a like-for-like comparison or a universal winner.

StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from videos you upload. It does not stream from a camera or send to other platforms. Upload a recording or make a playlist, add the YouTube stream key once, and go live; the cloud keeps the video looping when your computer is off.

Run your own encoder on a cloud VM
A cloud VM can act like a computer that stays online: run an encoder there, feed it a prepared video and audio loop, and send the output to YouTube. This is a plausible direct architecture when you are comfortable setting up and monitoring a server. It is not a turnkey service: you are responsible for the encoder process, restart behavior, server access, and checking the YouTube stream.

The white noise machine is powered by AC. Our white noise machine can remember the last sound and volume level you selected when restarted, no need to reset to your previous settings.
- Prepare a representative source. Make the loop you intend to stream and check that the sound loops cleanly. Select a resolution and bitrate suited to the visual detail; a static or slow-moving soundscape may not need 1080p. Test with representative audio and movement.
- Create and configure the cloud encoder. Choose a VM and encoder workflow capable of continuously reading the prepared media and sending a live output. Set up a service or other process supervision appropriate to your environment so you can detect and recover from encoder failure. Exact VM sizes, encoder commands, and costs depend on the provider, media, and chosen implementation; the cited material does not prescribe one universal configuration.
- Create a YouTube live stream and protect its key. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream, then copy its stream key into the encoder’s YouTube destination settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or include it in public logs. Use YouTube’s recommended RTMPS connection for direct encoder ingestion, and verify the destination and stream health before relying on the loop.
- Set the encoder output. YouTube supports RTMP/RTMPS with H.264, H.265, or AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, and up to 60 fps. Use constant bitrate encoding. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says it should not exceed four seconds. For stereo audio, its advanced settings recommend 44.1 kHz sampling and 128 kbps. Its recommended 1080p30 ingestion bitrate is 10 Mbps for AV1/H.265 or 14 Mbps for H.264. These are guidance values, not a requirement to use 1080p: choose settings for your actual source and confirm the encoder’s upload configuration. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance is the reference for current values.
- Run a test and watch the stream health. YouTube says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” Test the intended audio and visuals, inspect YouTube’s stream-health indicators, and confirm the feed continues after the encoder has been running for a while.
- Plan recovery rather than assuming permanence. Monitor both the encoder and the YouTube destination. Define how you will restart the encoder and reconnect if the process, VM, network path, or YouTube ingest connection fails. Do not assume that a cloud service’s active channel remains uninterrupted indefinitely: Google Cloud documents a possible restart after 24 hours for a Live Stream API channel, as described below.
When Google Cloud Live Stream API or AWS is justified
Google Cloud Live Stream API
Google Cloud’s Live Stream API is a managed encoding service with resolution-based input and output charges. Its documentation prefers SRT over RTMP for its input endpoint when the encoder supports SRT, citing packet-drop recovery, forward error correction, multiple audio elementary streams, and higher bandwidth. That recommendation applies to the encoder-to-Google-Cloud input leg. If Google Cloud then sends a feed to YouTube, YouTube’s separate direct-encoder guidance recommends RTMPS; do not confuse the two connections. See the Live Stream API overview and YouTube encoder guidance.

Build and verify reconnection and restart handling if you need continuous operation. Published limits also include input/output tiers and per-region channel quotas, so check the current quota and supported tier against your resolution and channel count before building around the service. A channel can count as active without an input stream, so remove or stop resources you no longer need. Google Cloud bills a minimum of ten minutes and then rounds active time up to the nearest minute. Consult its Live Stream API pricing and current service limits before estimating recurring costs.

AWS MediaLive and MediaPackage workflow
AWS documents a broader path using an encoder such as MediaLive, optionally packaging with MediaPackage, and delivery through CloudFront. AWS identifies MediaLive as an encoder for a 24×7 live channel, and notes that content needs an encoder before CloudFront can distribute it. That architecture targets broadcast workflows; it can be excessive when the only goal is to loop a prepared soundscape into YouTube.
AWS’s solution guide gives an example total of $69.74 for a one-hour event with about 1,000 viewers, an SD 540p profile, US East (N. Virginia), and the guide’s other stated assumptions. The example assigns $67.24 per hour to distribution. It is not a cost estimate for sending a source feed to YouTube: its viewer delivery, bitrate ladder, region, and cache assumptions differ. Use the AWS live streaming solution guide for the described workflow, then price your actual architecture with a current calculator.

How to choose without underestimating cost or operational work
- Turnkey or self-managed? Choose a managed looping service if you do not want to configure and monitor a VM and encoder. Choose a VM when you can own those tasks and want direct control of the encoder workflow.
- Do you need processing? If your source is already prepared and only needs to loop into YouTube, transcoding and packaging may be unnecessary. If your workflow genuinely needs those services, compare managed media components.
- What happens when something drops? Establish who detects and recovers an encoder, input, or YouTube connection failure. Include documented restarts and service limits in the plan, not just nominal cloud availability.
- Which protocol is used on each leg? YouTube recommends RTMPS for direct encoder ingestion. Google Cloud’s SRT preference is for input to its own Live Stream API when supported. A multi-service workflow may use different protocols on different connections.
- What is the full recurring bill? Include compute or active-channel time, resolution-based inputs and outputs, packaging, storage, and—if applicable—viewer distribution. Use the planned runtime, resolution, regions, and delivery path. The cited AWS event example is not interchangeable with a YouTube ingest cost, and the available official information does not support a clean price/performance ranking across providers.
Copyright and channel readiness
A technically healthy stream can still face rights or policy issues. Use sound recordings and visuals you own or have permission to stream, and check the relevant rights for every item in a playlist. YouTube’s copyright and reused-content rules are separate considerations from whether an encoder can keep a stream online; looping or relaying material does not by itself establish permission or policy compliance. Before going live, review the applicable copyright safety checklist and YouTube’s current live-stream requirements in Studio.

Common problems and what to check
| Symptom | Likely area | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not receive the encoder feed | Destination settings or network connection | Confirm the correct stream key and destination, keep the key private, and use the recommended RTMPS path for direct YouTube ingest. |
| Stream health reports problems | Bitrate, frame rate, keyframes, or upload configuration | Use constant bitrate; check the codec-specific guidance, two-second recommended keyframe interval (no more than four seconds), and that the configured upload bitrate matches the intended resolution and codec. |
| Audio sounds wrong or is missing | Encoder audio settings or source file | Check that the source contains the intended audio track and the encoder is sending AAC or MP3. For stereo, YouTube’s advanced-settings recommendations are 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. |
| The soundscape stops after running for a long time | Process or service lifecycle | Inspect encoder logs and restart supervision. If using Google Cloud Live Stream API, account for its documented possibility of a restart after 24 hours in an active state and verify reconnection handling. |
| Costs continue when you think the stream is idle | Unstopped cloud resources | Check for active channels and other billable resources. Google Cloud says an API channel may count as active without an input stream. |
| The loop is technically live but contains material you cannot use | Rights or YouTube policy | Review the rights and policy status of every audio and visual element; streaming capability does not grant content permission. |
