A YouTube event scheduled in advance
A scheduled YouTube livestream is an event with a start time. Creating an event does not by itself provide the cloud playout that supplies video continuously. You still need an encoder or playout service to send the stream.
How to choose a platform
Before paying, verify the workflow against your channel’s actual schedule and source files. A “24/7” label alone does not tell you whether a plan supports your playlist, output quality, or desired run length.
- Continuous-run duration: Is the stream genuinely continuous, or does it stop after a defined run? OneStream Live documents a 30-day maximum per 24/7 run.
- Scheduling and playlist behavior: Can you queue multiple videos, set their order, schedule changes in advance, and determine what happens when the playlist ends?
- YouTube destination and stream setup: Confirm YouTube is supported and understand how the platform uses your YouTube stream key. Avoid sharing the key; treat it like a password.
- Output quality and conversion: Check resolution and frame-rate limits, whether files are re-encoded, and whether the delivered stream matches your source and plan.
- Storage and bandwidth: Estimate how much video you need to keep available and how much continuous delivery your plan includes. Ask whether limits are per stream, account, or billing period.
- Concurrent streams: If you operate several channels, compare the number of simultaneous outputs permitted by the plan.
- Recovery and support: Find out what happens if YouTube disconnects or a source file fails, and what recovery controls are included. Do not interpret a recovery feature as a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
- Total cost and billing period: Compare the plan that includes the needed functions, not only an entry-level price. Recheck current terms before purchase.

Castr’s documented cloud playout channel can schedule uploaded files and live streams into a selected Castr livestream destination, including YouTube. Check which current plan includes the playout controls you need and confirm bandwidth, concurrent stream count, output resolution, and whether failover is included at that plan level. Its pricing page is the place to verify current tiers and limits.
Gyre
Gyre’s product page describes cloud streaming for prerecorded videos alongside scheduling, playlists, storage, and video conversion. Its plan capacities and prices are volatile; compare current limits for streams, storage, resolution, frame rate, and scheduling before choosing.

OneStream Live
According to OneStream Live Help Center documentation, updated September 3, 2026, its 24/7 feature is YouTube-only, requires Enterprise, and is limited to 30 days per run. A separate help article, updated July 21, 2026, describes scheduling prerecorded streams up to 60 days ahead. Treat these as two different limits: how far ahead a broadcast can be scheduled and how long a continuous run can last.

AWS Elemental MediaLive
YouTube lists AWS Elemental MediaLive in its verified encoder directory. That listing establishes it as an encoder option, not that it provides the same ready-made playlist and scheduled prerecorded playout workflow as a dedicated cloud playout service. You would need to validate the architecture and total operating cost for your use case.

Enable livestreaming and check channel access
YouTube’s encoder guidance is a useful starting point for setting up a stream. A third-party Restream help page says livestreaming must be enabled and that initial setup requires phone verification followed by a 24-hour wait. Because that timing detail comes from a third-party provider, confirm the current requirement in YouTube Studio or YouTube Help for your account and region. Use a stream key carefully
Connect the cloud platform to the intended YouTube channel using its documented stream-key workflow. Keep the key private; if it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the playout service. Check that the destination is the correct channel before starting a long-running stream.
Confirm content rights and YouTube policy fit
Use videos, music, and other material you have the rights to broadcast on YouTube. A platform’s ability to play a file does not grant permission to rebroadcast it. Also consider YouTube’s copyright and monetization policies: uploading prerecorded material as a livestream does not, by itself, establish that the channel qualifies for monetization or complies with rules on reused content. Review the current YouTube policies that apply to your channel and content.
Plan for the stream archive
Restream’s help page states that YouTube archives only streams under 12 hours. This is a third-party statement, not a definitive current YouTube policy citation. If you need an archive, recording, or replay, check current YouTube guidance and the cloud platform’s recording options; do not assume a long continuous broadcast will produce the archive you want.
Common problems and practical checks
- The service offers multistreaming but no continuous playlist: Confirm that its documentation describes 24/7 prerecorded playout, not just sending a live encoder feed to multiple destinations.
- The stream starts but stops later: Check the maximum run duration, plan limits, scheduled end time, playlist behavior, and whether the provider requires a new event or session.
- YouTube does not receive the stream: Verify the selected channel, stream key, destination settings, and whether livestreaming is enabled. If you reset the key, update it in the cloud platform.
- Output quality is lower than expected: Check the service’s plan-specific resolution and frame-rate limits, file conversion behavior, and the quality of the original upload. Do not assume that source-file resolution equals delivered stream quality.
- A playlist runs out or repeats unexpectedly: Review the loop setting and playlist order, then test the end-of-list behavior before relying on it for a continuous channel.
- A stream disconnects: Check whether the provider documents automatic recovery, how it behaves after a YouTube drop, and whether you must restart or reauthorize anything. No feature description alone establishes uninterrupted uptime.
- Archived video is missing or shorter than expected: Check current YouTube archive guidance and the service’s recording settings. The cited third-party 12-hour threshold should be verified before it informs an archive-dependent workflow.
- A rights or monetization issue appears: Review the rights for every video and audio track and the current YouTube policies; a technical playout service cannot resolve those issues for you.
