Lullaby walkthrough: every objective in order
- Go to Fallen Village > Marketplace. Move toward the water and look for the house with flames visible in the distance.
- Approach the empty crib. Interacting with it starts Lullaby. If the quest does not begin, make sure you are at the crib rather than simply near the burning house.
- Exit through the back door. Once the quest is active, leave the house through its rear exit.
- Pick up the Weathered Key. The key is on the ground near enemies. Deal with the enemies, evade them, or create enough space to collect the item safely; the walkthrough does not require a particular combat method.
- Return toward the lantern. Follow the path back toward the previous area.
- Turn right after the Volunteer. This landmark marks the direction toward the river crossing.
- Cross the river to the house. Reach the house on the opposite side and use the Weathered Key on its locked door.
- Take the Toy from the bed. Search the bed inside the unlocked house to collect the quest item.
- Return to the crib. Retrace the route to the original empty crib and place the Toy there.

Ambers are equipped at a lantern. Increasing your level gives you more Amber slots, while catalyst clots can push William beyond the next level threshold. Check your slots before entering Marketplace so you are not trying to change your plan in the middle of a fight.
Carry a plan for mistakes
Blocking, dodging, and parrying each ask for different timing. If you are still learning enemy attacks, favor a setup that preserves conventional healing and gives you a dependable melee option. A specialized Amber can be powerful, but its drawback should be understood before you commit to it.

- Blade attacks build posture. Parrying also contributes to the posture-focused approach. When an enemy suffers a posture break, follow with a heavy attack or finisher.
- Firearms target weak points. Aim at lambent blisters instead of spending rounds on undistinguished shots.
- Weak-point hits refill Nephtoglobin. This creates a resource loop: precise shooting can fund powers such as Fire, Stasis, or Shield when those powers are available to you.
- Kills often drop ammunition. This can offset some expenditure, but “often” is not a guarantee. Treat every round as valuable.
- Fire Transmutation ignites enemies. Burning enemies are open to finishers, giving an elemental effect a direct connection to your execution window.
There are two timing rules worth remembering on the way to the key and river house. First, an attack cannot be canceled into a parry. Do not begin a swing when you already know you may need to defend immediately. Second, a perfect dodge briefly slows time, creating a safer opportunity to reposition or counterattack.
If you block a hit, perform the counterattack immediately afterward when it is safe. The official guidance says that counterattack restores the health lost while blocking. This is especially useful when incidental enemies surround the key area, because it turns a successful defense into a chance to recover that chip damage.
Amber setups: what each choice changes
No source establishes a Lullaby-specific Amber tier list. The following are general options whose effects and trade-offs are documented for Valor Mortis.
Marksman’s Bane: ammunition through precision defense
Effect: Marksman’s Bane allows bullet parries, and each successful bullet parry returns a Pistol round.
This is most useful if you are already comfortable recognizing projectile timing. It rewards a defensive response while helping sustain the Pistol’s ammunition. It is a poor fit if you equip it but rarely attempt bullet parries, because the benefit depends on executing that specific maneuver successfully. Nothing in the Lullaby route requires a bullet parry.
Volatile End: convert weak-point hits into area damage
Effect: Weak-point shots cause a damaging explosion.

Volatile End suits a player who reliably identifies lambent blisters and wants each accurate shot to affect nearby enemies as well. It aligns with the official advice to aim at weak points, but the evidence does not establish the explosion’s damage, radius, or superiority on any Lullaby encounter. Use it as a precision-damage option, not as proof that the quest contains a particular enemy formation.
Butcher’s Carnage: melee sustain with a permanent healing trade-off
Effect: Melee strikes restore health, but Ferrofluid Flasks can no longer heal you.
This is an aggressive sustain build, not a free upgrade. It can reward frequent melee contact and reduce dependence on flask charges, but losing Ferrofluid Flask healing removes a conventional safety net. Choose it only when you are willing to recover through attacks and understand that the trade-off applies throughout the run, not just during Lullaby.

A conservative, unspecialized setup
If you are new to the game or have not decided how you fight, use the slots you have for broadly useful effects and retain normal healing access. The official article does not name a universal survival Amber, and the unofficial boss guide’s survival, Maximum Health, and Melee Damage suggestions concern demo bosses rather than this side quest. Treat those suggestions as optional fan advice, not requirements.
Weapon choices for the route
The compact arsenal has clear role differences. These are practical distinctions, not a verified ranking for Lullaby.

Three practical loadout approaches
1. Learning route: Saber plus a weak-point sidearm
- Use the Saber for ordinary enemies and posture building.
- Keep a Pistol for lambent blisters rather than routine damage.
- Practice blocking, immediate counterattacks, and heavy attacks after posture breaks.
- Leave specialized Amber effects unequipped until you understand their drawbacks.
This is the least demanding approach for a first visit. It does not depend on parrying bullets, forgoes normal healing, or requiring precise Rapier-only defense.

- Use the Rapier’s speed to punish openings.
- Carry the Pistol and reserve shots for weak points.
- Attempt bullet parries only when you can identify the projectile timing.
- Use successful bullet parries to replenish Pistol rounds.
This route is efficient in practiced hands but less forgiving because the Rapier cannot block and Marksman’s Bane pays off only when its specialized parry succeeds.
3. Aggressive sustain route: Saber or Rapier plus Butcher’s Carnage
- Stay close enough for melee strikes to restore health.
- Build posture with controlled hits and parries, then finish the staggered enemy.
- Do not assume Ferrofluid Flasks will rescue a failed exchange; Butcher’s Carnage removes their healing function.
- Use Fire Transmutation when it creates a safe finisher opportunity.
This approach can work for players who already attack confidently, but its healing restriction makes it a deliberate challenge rather than a universally safe recommendation.
Resource management between the crib and the river house
Spend ammunition only on a purpose
Before firing, identify a lambent blister or another clear tactical reason. The official launch advice explicitly describes ammunition as scarce. Kills may return ammunition, but that possibility should not justify speculative shots. If an enemy can be handled safely with posture damage and a finisher, preserve the round.
Use Nephtoglobin when it changes the exchange
Weak-point hits refill Nephtoglobin, so combine shooting with a planned power use. Fire can create burning finishers; Stasis or Shield may be useful at moments when the route becomes crowded, depending on which powers you have unlocked. The available evidence does not specify a required power for Lullaby, so do not spend the resource merely because it is full.
Reset your position before interacting
At the Weathered Key and the Toy, first create enough space to interact without being struck. The walkthrough places enemies near the key, but it does not prescribe whether killing, evading, or repositioning is best. Your goal is a safe pickup, not a dramatic clear of every nearby enemy.
Troubleshooting the quest route
The crib does not start Lullaby
Confirm that you are in Fallen Village > Marketplace and have approached the empty crib near the water. The documented starting landmark is the crib, not the burning house by itself.
You cannot find the Weathered Key
Exit through the back door of the crib house and check the ground near the enemies. The key is outside, rather than inside the starting building.
You reached the wrong side of the river
From the lantern, follow the path toward the prior area and turn right after the Volunteer. The target house is across the river. The Weathered Key opens its locked door.

After unlocking the door, check the bed. The Toy is reported there, not at the entrance or outside the building.
The quest will not complete
Return all the way to the original crib and interact with it to place the Toy. Merely picking up the Toy does not finish Lullaby.
