For a self-managed prerecorded YouTube Live loop in India, compare monthly data transfer, encoder workload and total renewal cost before choosing a VPS. The reviewed listings show a low advertised entry price from HeavenCloud in Mumbai and a higher-resource Mumbai plan from Endercloud, but neither listing proves sustained streaming performance. If you would rather not administer a server, StreamNeo is the managed alternative to consider first: it runs uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and offers a free first day.
Which option fits a 24/7 prerecorded stream?
A VPS gives you a server to configure and operate: you choose the encoder workflow, protect your YouTube stream key, keep the process running, monitor stream health and arrange recovery if it fails. It is not a plug-and-play streaming service unless your provider explicitly includes those tasks.

For a prerecorded file already prepared at the intended YouTube resolution, frame rate and codec, the server may only need to relay it. Transcoding or changing resolution or frame rate adds processing work. The provider listings below do not establish guaranteed CPU capacity for a particular encoding command.

Budget VPS listings in Mumbai

| Option | Advertised listing | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| 1. StreamNeo managed cloud loop | One always-on YouTube stream per slot, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, up to 4K 60fps as uploaded, and advertised automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. First day free with no card; same product on every plan, with the billing period changing. | Best to consider if avoiding server administration matters more than having your own VPS environment. These are vendor-described features, not independent test results. See StreamNeo. |
| HeavenCloud Mumbai VPS | ₹390/month; 2 dedicated cores, 2 GB RAM, 15 GB SSD and a 1 Gbps unmetered network, according to the provider listing. | Lowest displayed entry price in this small sample. Confirm the traffic policy behind “unmetered” and whether the compute resources fit your exact relay or encoding workflow. Listing claims are not a performance test. Check the HeavenCloud Mumbai VPS listing. |
| Endercloud India VPS | ₹999/month; 3 vCore, 8 GB ECC RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 2 TB bandwidth at 1 Gbps, according to the provider listing. | Higher listed resources and a stated finite traffic allowance. Compare that allowance with your calculated stream data; a 1 Gbps port does not mean that speed is continuously available or that monthly transfer is unlimited. Check Endercloud’s India VPS listing. |

Estimate bandwidth before you buy
Bitrate drives the data requirement: a continuous stream sends data hour after hour. Do not treat a high port-speed figure or an “unmetered” label as proof of a particular sustained rate or verified monthly transfer policy. YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrates provide a useful starting point for estimating traffic, not a guarantee that a VPS can deliver that rate.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →| H.264 output | YouTube recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p at 30 or 60 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 17 Mbps |
| 1440p at 60 fps | 34 Mbps |
| 2160p at 60 fps | 50 Mbps |
These figures are YouTube’s encoder recommendations in its guidance accessed in 2026, not measured VPS requirements. Actual transfer depends on bitrate, stream duration, audio, protocol overhead and any other server traffic. Estimate data for the number of hours you intend to run, leave suitable headroom, and check how the host counts traffic, what happens at the allowance limit and whether overages or throttling apply. See YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrate and resolution guidance.

Set up a prerecorded YouTube Live loop on a VPS
The exact commands and service manager steps depend on your operating system and encoder; the provider pages do not establish a guaranteed configuration for a particular VPS. The following workflow covers the decisions that matter without assuming a specific server image or command.
- Choose the output first. Decide resolution, frame rate, codec and bitrate. If the recording already matches those settings, use a relay workflow where practical. If you plan to transcode, check that the VPS has adequate compute for the chosen encoder and test it; the advertised core count alone does not guarantee encoding capacity.
- Check the allowance and location. Calculate expected monthly transfer from the bitrate and run duration, with overhead and headroom. Confirm bandwidth billing, overage behavior, storage and renewal cost with the provider. A Mumbai server may be geographically convenient for an India-based creator, but the listing alone does not establish its route or performance to YouTube’s ingest.
- Prepare the server and media. Install a supported operating system and the encoder or relay software you intend to use. Place the video where the process can read it, check available disk space, and confirm audio and video play correctly. A VPS with limited storage may suit a single prepared recording but not a large library.
- Configure YouTube ingest securely. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and obtain its stream key and ingest settings. Use RTMPS where your encoder supports it. Treat the key like a password: do not put it in a public script, repository, log or screenshot, and rotate it if exposed.
- Use compatible encoder settings. YouTube’s current guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS and H.264, H.265 (HEVC) and AV1 video codecs, up to 60 fps, and CBR bitrate encoding. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. Follow the supported settings for the codec and resolution you select rather than assuming every combination suits every account or encoder.
- Run a test before the long loop. Start a short private or unlisted test, check YouTube’s stream health, confirm audio, image quality and playback, then review server resource use and outgoing traffic. YouTube recommends testing the upload bitrate with a speed test; a test can reveal problems but cannot establish future uptime.
- Keep it running and plan recovery. Configure your chosen process to start after a server restart, monitor it, and decide how you will detect and recover from a stopped encoder or dropped ingest. A VPS listing does not promise that someone will monitor or restart your stream.
Compare the real cost and workload
The rent is only one part of a self-managed VPS decision. Before ordering, compare transfer allowance and overage rules, taxes and renewal pricing, storage, operating system or licensing costs, server location and route, support scope, and who handles setup, monitoring and failures. Confirm whether the plan is managed; do not assume that server rental includes stream operations.
With a VPS, you control the environment and take on its administration. A managed cloud loop trades that control for a simpler upload-and-go-live workflow. StreamNeo’s displayed plans are:

Troubleshoot common VPS loop problems
- YouTube shows a weak or unstable stream: Check the encoder’s actual outgoing bitrate, server resource use and route; compare against the selected codec and resolution guidance, and test before returning to a long loop. A port-speed label is not evidence of sustained throughput.
- The stream stops after a restart: Check whether the encoder process is configured to start again after reboot and whether it can read the media file and key. VPS rental alone does not establish automatic recovery.
- The server exceeds its traffic allowance: Compare actual transfer with the estimate and the host’s billing definition. Reduce bitrate or running hours, choose a plan with a suitable allowance, or contact the provider about overages before service is affected.
- The recording will not play or loop cleanly: Verify that the file is readable, the encoder supports its formats, the audio is present and the loop point is acceptable. If changing format or resolution, account for the extra encoding workload and test again.
- The ingest key may have been exposed: Replace or rotate it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder configuration. Keep the new key out of logs and shared files.
Copyright and YouTube policy still apply
Putting a prerecorded video on a live stream does not grant rights to its music, footage or other material. Use content you own or are licensed to stream, and check the rights for every element in a playlist. YouTube’s live-stream guidance explains encoder and ingest settings; it does not certify a VPS or determine whether a particular recording is legally usable. Review YouTube’s applicable copyright and monetization rules for your channel and content before broadcasting.
