For smoother BGMI gameplay, start with Graphics: Smooth and choose the highest frame-rate option the game displays on your device. This is a practical performance-first setup, not an official preset or a guarantee of a particular frame rate. If play is unstable, lower graphics quality and test again.
Which BGMI graphics and frame-rate settings should you use?
Use the game’s own menu as the guide: select Smooth graphics, then the highest frame-rate choice available for your device. A third-party settings guide also recommends Smooth with the highest available frame-rate option, but BGMI does not establish this as a universal best setting. If you prefer richer visuals, raise graphics quality only if gameplay remains stable on your device.

Frame-rate options vary by device and BGMI support. A screen advertised as 90 Hz or 120 Hz does not, by itself, mean BGMI will offer 90 or 120 FPS on that model. FPS describes how many frames the game renders each second; Hz describes how often the screen can refresh. Check both the in-game option and the device’s display setting.

How to enable 90 FPS in BGMI
- Open BGMI and go to Settings > Graphics & Audio > Smooth.
- Look for and select 90FPS, if that option appears in Graphics Settings for your device.
- Play and assess stability. If performance is inconsistent, keep Smooth graphics and choose a lower frame-rate option that runs reliably.
BGMI’s notice dated December 28, 2023, makes availability conditional: the 90 FPS selection button must be present in Graphics Settings. An absent option is not a setting to force through another tool.

How to enable 120 FPS in BGMI
BGMI says, “The ability to use 120 FPS is available only on select high-refresh-rate devices that support this feature through hardware and software.” In the game, the Ultra Extreme frame-rate choice must appear in Graphics Settings for 120 FPS to be available. A high-refresh-rate display alone is not proof that the feature is supported on a particular model.
- In BGMI, open Settings > Graphics and check whether Ultra Extreme is available.
- If it is available but does not take effect, check the phone or tablet’s display refresh-rate setting. BGMI’s Android examples include Settings > Display > Motion smoothness on Samsung, Settings > Display > Advanced on OnePlus, and Settings > Display > Screen refresh rate on Xiaomi. Menu names can differ by model and software version.
- On iPhone or iPad, BGMI’s instructions say to go to Settings > Accessibility > Motion and turn off Limit Frame Rate.
- Return to BGMI and check the Graphics menu again. If the feature still does not work, BGMI directs players to contact in-game support.
The display refresh setting and BGMI’s frame-rate selection are separate controls. Follow the labels shown on your device and in your current game version; do not assume an option is available if it is missing from the menu.

How to choose between smoother play and better visuals
| Priority | Starting choice | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Performance-first play | Smooth graphics and the highest frame-rate option BGMI displays | If gameplay is unstable, reduce graphics load and retest. |
| More visual detail | Raise graphics quality from Smooth | Keep the higher setting only if your device maintains stable gameplay. |
| 90 or 120 FPS specifically | Select 90FPS or Ultra Extreme only when BGMI shows the option | For 120 FPS, also check the device’s refresh-rate setting. |
There is no supported universal FPS, temperature, battery-life, or latency improvement figure for these choices. Results depend on the particular device and conditions, so judge stability on your own device rather than expecting a promised gain.

Why a high-refresh-rate screen may not show 90 or 120 FPS
- BGMI support is device-specific: the necessary hardware and software support must be present, and the corresponding choice must appear in the game.
- The device display may be set to a lower refresh mode: check the maker’s display controls if the game offers 120 FPS but it does not apply.
- Labels and menus can change: device software and BGMI versions may use different menu wording. Use the current labels on your device.
BGMI Help Center lists Android 4.4 or higher, Adreno 306 or higher, and at least 1.5 GB of RAM as minimum requirements. That older minimum-specification page is not a current recommendation for stable high-FPS gameplay, nor does it establish support for 90 or 120 FPS.
