Best starting point: use Apple App Store Connect and Google Play Console if you only need to read and answer reviews in each store. Consider a specialist such as AppFollow, Appbot, or AppTweak when a shared inbox, review analysis, support-system routing, or assisted replies would solve a real workflow problem. Check each vendor’s current store coverage, permissions, plan limits, and automation controls before committing.
When do you need a third-party app review tool?
Both major mobile stores already let developers respond to reviews. A paid platform is most useful when the work becomes difficult to manage across separate consoles or when you need analysis and routing beyond the native tools.

- Stay with native consoles if review volume is manageable, staff can work in each store, and the built-in filters and reporting answer your questions.
- Evaluate a specialist if you want one response workflow across stores, need to route feedback to support teams, or require richer tagging, trend analysis, or reply assistance.
- Build or commission an integration if your requirements are specific and your team can maintain it. Apple and Google document APIs for reading reviews and submitting responses, subject to their permissions and API constraints: Apple Customer Reviews API, Apple Customer Review Responses API, and Google’s Reply to Reviews API.
There is no substantiated performance ranking or comparable current pricing among the options below. Treat them as candidates to evaluate against your workflow, not as a universal best-to-worst list.
What the native store tools provide
Apple App Store Connect
Eligible App Store Connect roles can respond publicly to reviews, then edit or delete a response. Apple says it can take up to 24 hours for a response to appear, and only one response per review appears on the product page. See Apple’s instructions for responding to reviews.

- Improve sound quality by adjusting it with effects
- Take control over the sound playing through audio hardware
Google Play Console
A team member needs the “Reply to reviews” permission to respond in Play Console. Developers can post one public reply per review and edit it later. Google’s review interface includes filters such as date, language, reply status, star rating, app version, and device, as well as search and sorting. Its analysis interface can surface recurring themes when enough similar reviews are available. For a lower-volume team that does not need a shared cross-platform inbox or external routing, these features may be sufficient. See Google Play review and reply help and Google Play review analysis.
Third-party tools to compare
The following products have relevant review-management workflows. Feature descriptions here come from the vendors themselves; verify current availability and terms with the vendor before selecting a plan.
Rank #2
| Tool | What to investigate | Best fit to explore |
|---|---|---|
| AppFollow | Its vendor-authored 2026 roundup describes a shared response workflow across Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore, and Microsoft Store. Confirm the stores you need, as well as permissions, plan limits, and present-day availability. AppFollow’s roundup | Teams seeking a central workflow across multiple app stores. |
| Appbot | The vendor describes review monitoring and analysis, replies from its platform, support-tool routing, and AI reply drafting. Check the intended stores, integrations, plan access, and whether assistance drafts replies or can publish them. Appbot features and reply features | Teams interested in connecting review work with support operations or reply drafting. |
| AppTweak Reviews Manager | AppTweak presents review management as part of a broader app store optimization (ASO) and app marketing platform, describing a combined review interface with templates, automation, and tagging. Confirm which features and seats are included in the relevant plan. AppTweak review management | Teams that expect to use a wider ASO workflow alongside review management. |
A vendor roundup also mentions Asodesk and Appfigures, but the available product documentation does not establish enough detail to compare their current review workflows here. Check their own materials before shortlisting them.

- List the stores and markets you actually support. Confirm coverage for Apple and Google and any additional stores, countries, languages, or review sources your team requires. Do not assume a vendor’s headline coverage guarantees access on your chosen plan.
- Map the response path. Find out whether staff reply in the tool, in a native console, or through a handoff. Check role permissions, approval steps, templates, editing, and how posted replies are tracked.
- Test the analysis you need. Compare filters, tagging, topic grouping, sentiment features, version and device context, trend reporting, and exports. If you rely on a particular breakdown, ask to see it using data relevant to your apps.
- Trace support routing end to end. If feedback should reach a helpdesk, chat, or CRM, verify the exact integration and whether a support agent can respond from that system or must switch back to the review tool.
- Set automation boundaries. Distinguish AI-assisted drafts from rules that publish automatically. Confirm language support, approval controls, audit history, and what happens when a review concerns safety, billing, or a sensitive account issue.
- Compare total plan limits and cost. Ask for current pricing and limits for apps, users, stores, replies, integrations, history, and feature tiers. These terms are not established on a comparable basis here, so no price or allowance should be assumed.
- Run a representative workflow before rollout. Have the intended roles handle a mix of praise, bug reports, and unresolved complaints. Check that the right review context is visible, replies reach the right store, and the team can correct a response when needed.
Keep replies useful and within store policy
Automation can speed up routine work, but it does not remove the need to follow store guidance. Apple recommends concise, respectful replies that address the feedback and exclude personal information, marketing language, and spam. Apple’s ratings and reviews guidance sets out those expectations.

Google says public replies are intended to help resolve problems and build relationships with users. It advises developers to be clear, relevant, and truthful, and not abusive or promotional. Replies should stay focused on the issue raised; do not ask users to raise their rating. See Google Play’s review reply guidance and Google Play’s ratings and reviews policy help.
