Google Flights: best for a known route and flexible dates
Google Flights supports tracking a selected flight or a route. You can choose specific dates or “Any dates.” For the flexible option, Google says it can email you when the route’s minimum price drops significantly over a month; if there is no sufficiently large drop, it may send a regular email with available fares. Skyscanner: best for a saved flight plus comparison shopping
Skyscanner lets you save a flight and receive an alert when its price changes. It also compares offers from travel booking sources, leaving you to select a provider. That makes it useful for monitoring a specific itinerary and then comparing where to book, rather than a guarantee that every available fare will appear. - You know the route and want date flexibility: Google Flights documents an “Any dates” tracking option.
- You have a particular itinerary in mind: Google Flights can track a selected flight, while Skyscanner can alert on a saved flight.
- You want to discover deals rather than monitor only one trip: Compare Going’s custom alerts and deal notifications with Matt’s Flights’ free email alerts.
- You want to compare booking providers: Skyscanner describes comparing offers and letting you choose a provider. Check the fare and booking conditions with that provider before purchasing.
