Best AirPods Pro 3 Alternatives for iPhone and Android Users (2026)

The best AirPods Pro 3 alternative depends on your phone and priorities: Sony for cross-platform features, Bose for ANC, Pixel or Galaxy buds for ecosystem extras, and CMF for a lower-cost pick.

Most premium wireless earbuds can pair with both iPhone and Android over Bluetooth, but their best extras may be limited to one ecosystem. For a cross-platform flagship, consider Sony WF-1000XM6; for noise cancellation and comfort, shortlist Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen); and for lower cost, CMF Buds 2 Plus. Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro make the most sense when their Google or Samsung features match your phone.

What to compare before choosing

Bluetooth compatibility is not the same as full feature compatibility. Google says Pixel Buds Pro 2 pair with iOS and Android, but full access requires an Android phone. Apple likewise says AirPods can work as Bluetooth headphones with non-Apple devices, with limited functionality. Check which controls and features are available on your phone before buying, rather than assuming a successful pairing gives you the same experience.

Fit matters as much as a headline ANC figure: ear-tip seal and comfort vary by person, and a poor seal can affect noise cancellation. Battery figures also need context. Manufacturer maximums are not directly comparable to independent tests run under different settings.

Which alternative fits your phone and priorities?

Sony WF-1000XM6: strongest cross-platform premium pick

Sony is the most balanced choice here if you move between iPhone and Android or want broad control without tying the purchase to one phone brand. TechRepublic’s comparison reports ANC, multipoint, wireless charging, EQ controls, and support for both platforms. LDAC is an additional option on compatible Android phones, not on iPhone. That makes Sony a strong all-rounder, rather than a universal winner for every listener.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen): prioritize ANC and comfort

Bose is worth shortlisting if blocking noise is your main aim. What Hi-Fi? reviewers judged Bose cancellation more effective than AirPods Pro 3, while describing AirPods’ ANC as more natural; those are review judgments, not guaranteed results for every ear. TechRepublic also lists comfort and iOS/Android support as strengths, and reports Bluetooth multipoint. Try the fit if possible, since comfort assessments vary.

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2: best for Google features across occasional iPhone use

Google’s specifications say Pixel Buds Pro 2 pair with any Bluetooth 4.0-or-newer device, including iOS, Android, tablets, and laptops. They include ANC, Transparency, USB-C and Qi charging, and an adjustable stabilizer with multiple tip sizes. Google rates them for up to 8 hours of ANC listening on one charge or up to 30 hours with the case. These are manufacturer maximums, not an independent test result. To access all features, Google requires a Google Account, an internet connection, and a phone running Android 6.0 or newer.

Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro: choose them for a compatible Galaxy phone

These are the ecosystem-first choice. TechRepublic reports that compatible Galaxy phones unlock 24-bit/96kHz audio, AI translation features, head gestures, 360 Audio, and seamless device switching. On other Android phones, standard Bluetooth playback and app settings remain, but some headline features do not. Check the supported phone models for the features you care about before choosing them.

CMF Buds 2 Plus: spend less and accept fewer extras

CMF is the budget-oriented option in this shortlist, with ANC, LDAC, and dual-device connection. It gives up some ecosystem extras and polish compared with the more expensive alternatives in TechRepublic’s assessment. Its battery result needs a specific qualification: SoundGuys measured 10 hours 22 minutes with ANC off, as reported by TechRepublic, so it is not directly comparable with tests conducted with ANC enabled.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5: consider them if battery replacement matters

The Sennheiser model stands out for replaceable batteries in the earbuds and charging case, alongside multipoint and aptX Lossless. TechRepublic reports that the replacement cells are proprietary and the process needs a small screwdriver; parts are sold through Sennheiser, but regional availability should be checked. Choose this route for the repairability trade-off, not on the assumption that replacement is effortless or universally available.

How to read ANC and battery comparisons

TechRepublic reports SoundGuys measurements of average noise reduction: Sony 88%, Bose 85%, Samsung 84%, CMF 83%, and Sennheiser just under 85%; AirPods Pro 3 measured 90% in that comparison. These are laboratory-style comparative measurements, not a promise of what a particular person will hear. TechRepublic notes that fit changes ANC performance.

The same report gives measured playback of 9 hours 41 minutes for Sony with ANC, 5 hours 34 minutes for Bose, about six hours for Samsung, 10 hours 22 minutes for CMF with ANC off, and 6 hours 17 minutes for Sennheiser with ANC. SoundGuys’ figures are reported by TechRepublic, and differing test settings mean the results should not be treated as a clean battery ranking.

For context, Apple rates AirPods Pro 3 for up to 8 hours of listening per charge with ANC and up to 24 hours with the case while ANC is enabled. Google rates Pixel Buds Pro 2 for up to 8 hours with ANC and up to 30 hours total with the case. These are manufacturer maximums under stated conditions, not equivalent independent tests.

Quick buying checklist

  • Confirm your phone supports the specific extras you want, not just Bluetooth pairing.
  • Compare the current local sale price and verify the product generation before ordering.
  • Prioritize a secure, comfortable tip fit; try different tip sizes where possible.
  • Compare battery results only when ANC and other test conditions are similar.
  • If considering replaceable batteries, confirm parts and service availability in your region.
