For a practical starting point, use AION 2’s official Full HD compatibility preset: Very Low on a PC near the minimum requirements, or Low on one near the recommended requirements. These are compatibility recommendations, not promises of a particular frame rate. If gameplay still feels uneven, adjust one setting at a time in a repeatable scene and balance smoothness against image clarity and combat visibility.
Start with the official Full HD preset
PLAYNC Support’s system requirements, dated July 21, 2026, give these Full HD starting points. The specifications describe hardware tiers and compatible presets; they do not report measured FPS. See PLAYNC Support’s AION 2 system requirements.

| Official tier | Processor | Memory | Graphics card | Full HD preset |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i5-10500 | 8 GB RAM | NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB | Very Low |
| Recommended | AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7-11700 | 16 GB RAM | NVIDIA RTX 2070 with 8 GB | Low |
Both tiers list Windows 10/11 64-bit, DirectX 12, and 100 GB available storage; PLAYNC recommends an SSD. These are publisher-listed requirements, not an assurance that every system meeting them will feel smooth in every scene. The Steam listing carries the same tiers and Full HD notes: AION 2 on Steam.

How to tune settings when the baseline is not smooth enough
- Check your hardware against the requirements. Compare your processor, graphics card, and RAM with the closest official tier. If the PC is below minimum, graphics changes may help but cannot guarantee a smooth result.
- Apply the tier’s Full HD preset. Start at Very Low for minimum-tier hardware or Low for recommended-tier hardware.
- Test in a repeatable situation. Use the same area and activity when comparing settings. Change one option at a time so you can tell whether the change improves perceived smoothness without making the image or combat harder to read.
- Adjust the setting that matches the problem. If you are testing visual quality options, a current third-party guide suggests trying global illumination, reflections, shadows, and effects. If slowdowns happen mainly in crowded scenes, it suggests testing crowd density, particularly where the processor may be a bottleneck. These are troubleshooting candidates, not a verified ranking of performance gains. Read the guide’s AION 2 settings discussion.
- Recheck sharpness after lowering resolution or enabling upscaling. Lower internal resolution can soften the image. The same guide cautions against stacking two upscalers because that can make the picture softer; test one approach at a time and keep the result that remains clear enough for play.
Choose tradeoffs by what you notice in play
Visual effects and lighting
Lowering global illumination, reflections, shadows, or effects may reduce visual detail. A third-party settings guide recommends considering these options when seeking performance, but no controlled AION 2 test establishing the size of each gain is available here. Keep effects that help you read attacks or other important combat cues unless your own repeatable comparison shows the tradeoff is worthwhile.

Crowded scenes
If performance worsens mainly when many players or characters are on screen, try reducing crowd density and compare in that same kind of scene. The guide identifies this as a possible help in crowded or CPU-limited situations; it does not establish that crowd density is the cause of every slowdown.
Textures and video memory
Texture quality uses video memory. The guide advises keeping it as high as available VRAM permits, rather than lowering it automatically. If you do test a lower texture setting, compare image quality and smoothness in the same area; the guide does not supply a measured VRAM threshold or FPS improvement.

- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
Resolution and upscaling
Reducing render resolution can make the image less sharp even if motion feels better. When testing resolution scaling or an upscaler, change one choice at a time and inspect fine detail and combat readability as well as smoothness. The guide warns against using two upscalers simultaneously because the result can look softer.
What a preset can—and cannot—tell you
The official Very Low and Low recommendations are compatibility starting points for Full HD, not universal optimal settings. AION 2 performance can vary with the processor and graphics card, resolution, and what is happening in-game. The third-party settings advice is useful for deciding what to test, but it does not provide controlled comparisons that prove one configuration delivers the best FPS across systems. Treat your own repeatable comparison as the basis for keeping or reverting a change.
