For most small businesses that work with PDFs every day, Acrobat Pro for teams is the most capable starting point: it adds OCR for scans, PDF comparison, permanent redaction, web forms, reusable e-signature templates, and bulk signature requests to core PDF tools. Choose Standard for routine editing and basic signature work; consider Studio if your team will use AI-powered document Q&A and shared PDF Spaces. Larger organizations with complex signature integrations or compliance requirements should assess Acrobat Sign Solutions separately.
Which Acrobat plan fits a business?
Adobe’s business lineup has three principal team subscriptions—Standard, Pro, and Studio—plus enterprise offerings for organizations with more complex deployment or signature needs. The distinctions are most useful when mapped to the work your team actually does.

What Standard covers for routine PDF work
Standard is aimed at teams that need to create and update ordinary business PDFs without the more specialized tools in Pro. Adobe lists PDF editing and organization, conversion, form filling, signing, collecting signatures, and password protection. That can cover tasks such as correcting a document, converting a file to PDF, completing a form, or requesting a signature from someone else.
#1 Best Overall
Standard is also a business subscription rather than simply an individual license: Adobe describes centralized license management, company control of assets, and technical support for business plans. Those administration benefits may matter even when a team’s PDF tasks are straightforward.
What Pro adds for complex documents and signatures
Pro is the practical step up when routine PDF edits are not enough. Its strongest business features address document intake, review, sensitive information, and repetitive signing tasks.
Turn paper scans into searchable documents
OCR (optical character recognition) converts scanned pages into editable or searchable PDFs. This helps staff find text in scans and reuse information without manually retyping everything. Adobe also says its Acrobat Scan mobile app can recognize text automatically and create digital files from paper documents, so a separate scanner is optional for teams whose phone-based capture meets their volume and quality needs.

Review changes and remove sensitive information
PDF comparison helps identify differences between document versions, which is useful when reviewing revisions to contracts, policies, or proposals. Redaction is intended to permanently remove sensitive content from a PDF rather than merely cover it visually. Treat security and privacy claims as Adobe’s representations: check the current product documentation and your organization’s own legal, security, and retention requirements before relying on any workflow.
Collect signatures at scale
Pro adds web forms, reusable e-signature templates, and bulk signature requests. These features can reduce repeated setup when a team sends the same agreement or collects the same information from many people. If signing requirements involve complex integrations, specialized authentication, or industry-specific compliance certifications, see the enterprise distinction below rather than assuming Pro alone addresses them.
What Studio adds: AI Assistant and PDF Spaces
Studio combines Pro’s advanced PDF capabilities with Acrobat AI Assistant, PDF Spaces, and Adobe Express Premium. Adobe describes using AI Assistant to ask questions about documents, generate summaries, and use voice prompts on mobile. Its descriptions also include insights across PDFs, Microsoft 365 files, and web links.
Rank #3
PDF Spaces provide a shared place for documents and collaboration. Adobe describes shared access, real-time review, and connections with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box. Studio is most relevant when a team expects to use document Q&A or shared PDF Spaces enough to justify the additional subscription cost—not just because it includes more features.

Businesses handling confidential or regulated material should verify that statement against Adobe’s current privacy documentation and their own policies before enabling AI features.
When a business plan matters beyond the PDF tools
Adobe distinguishes teams subscriptions from individual plans through support for multiple users, centralized license management in Admin Console, company control of assets, and 24×7 technical support. It positions Acrobat for teams for small and midsize teams, while enterprise plans are intended for larger organizations with more complex deployment and management needs. The right choice depends on administration and rollout needs as well as PDF features.
Rank #4
Adobe reports that more than 570,000 organizations use Acrobat for teams; this is an Adobe-reported figure, not an independently audited market statistic. Its page also cites a Forrester Total Economic Impact study dated June 2026 that modeled 357% ROI and payback in under six months. Those are study outcomes based on assumptions, not guaranteed results for an individual business. Adobe’s cited customer examples—Longhouse reporting a 30% reduction in document intake time and SIROK reporting 1.5 times more content in the same timeframe—are customer-specific claims, not general benchmarks.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Acrobat Pro is not the same as Acrobat Sign Solutions
Acrobat Pro includes useful e-signature features such as templates and bulk sending, but Adobe describes Acrobat Sign Solutions as serving more specialized enterprise programs. Its stated use cases include deeper integrations, signer authentication, industry-specific compliance certification, and standardized automated workflows. If your organization needs those capabilities, compare the dedicated Sign Solutions offering with your requirements and obtain confirmation from Adobe about the relevant product, configuration, and region.

- List the documents your team handles. If the work is mostly edits, conversions, forms, signatures, and password protection, start by checking Standard.
- Check for advanced document work. If staff need searchable scans, version comparison, redaction, or web forms, evaluate Pro.
- Estimate signature workflow needs. Repeated templates and bulk requests point toward Pro; complex authentication, integrations, or compliance needs warrant a separate Sign Solutions evaluation.
- Decide whether AI and shared spaces solve a real problem. Choose Studio only if Acrobat AI Assistant, PDF Spaces, or Adobe Express Premium are useful to the team’s regular work.
- Review administration and deployment. Consider Admin Console, asset control, support, license growth, and deployment complexity when choosing between teams and enterprise offerings.
- Confirm current terms for your location. Check live pricing, feature availability, license limits, billing terms, taxes, and cancellation terms before purchasing.
