Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsChoose Beaver Builder AI Chat for visual work on the page already open in WordPress, MCP when an external AI agent needs to work across pages or manage site-level design systems, and Design Kits when you want to build locally and import the result. These are different workflows, not a documented ranking of speed or output quality.
How the three workflows differ
| Workflow | Where you work | Best fit | Main distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Chat | Inside Beaver Builder or the WordPress Block Editor | Visual editing and content-first work | Works on the page currently open; requires an AI provider API key. |
| MCP | In an external AI agent connected to WordPress | Deeper agent control, including multi-page work | Requires a separate MCP connection setup; the agent uses its own model and billing. |
| Design Kits | On your local machine, followed by import into WordPress | Building outside WordPress with a coding assistant | Uses HTML files and is described as provider-agnostic; WordPress need not be running during the local build. |
Beaver Builder describes these as combinable workflows. Its product overview says Chat runs in both editors, MCP connects coding agents to a site, and design systems help keep work visually consistent: Beaver Builder AI overview.

What AI Chat can do—and where it stops
Chat is the most direct option when you are already editing a page. It runs inside Beaver Builder or the WordPress Block Editor and streams generated sections onto the canvas, where you can continue editing. The documented setup requires the Beaver Builder AI plugin, an AI provider API key, and the Beaver Builder page-builder plugin: AI Chat setup guide.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

The first-page guide says Chat works on the page currently open: it cannot create a page or reach other pages, and it is available to editors. Generated blocks use real HTML and scoped CSS, and the resulting content remains editable in WordPress. If the task involves another page or broader site work, Chat’s documented reach is the limiting factor, not a stated difference in content quality. See the AI workflow comparison.

What MCP adds
MCP moves the interaction out of the WordPress editor and into an external AI agent connected to the site. The agent can create and edit pages, build native Beaver Builder layouts, and manage design systems. It can create rows, columns, and modules, and a page can combine native and generated sections. The agent uses its own model and billing; the API key configured for built-in Chat is not used for MCP requests. The vendor’s overview of the workflow is in its AI product documentation.
Connection requirements
The official setup guide describes two connection approaches. Both require the MCP Adapter plugin, WordPress 6.9 or later, and permalinks that do not include index.php. The cloud authorization method is for a public HTTPS site. A local or staging site can use the manual method, which involves a WordPress application password and a local Node.js bridge. Follow the current MCP setup guide for the connection steps and supported details; requirements may change as WordPress and the plugin evolve.

When Design Kits make more sense
Design Kits are a local-first workflow: start with a starter kit or build one locally, work with HTML files and an AI coding tool, then import the result into WordPress. The comparison describes the approach as provider-agnostic and says WordPress does not need to be running while you build. Choose this route when you want to work outside the editor and bring the files into WordPress afterward, rather than have an agent operate directly on the site. The vendor’s AI workflow overview describes this distinction.
Which workflow should you use?
- Choose Chat if you want to generate and visually refine content on the page open in WordPress, and your task stays within that page.
- Choose MCP if you want an external agent to create or edit multiple pages, build native layouts, or manage design systems—and you can complete the connection setup.
- Choose Design Kits if you prefer a local HTML-file workflow, want to use a coding assistant without depending on a particular provider, and plan to import the result into WordPress.
- Combine them when a project calls for more than one workflow; Beaver Builder presents them as complementary options.
Beaver Builder’s comparison says Chat and MCP build the same kind of editable content; the choice is principally about how much of the site the workflow can reach and how it is set up. Design Kits differ in starting point: they begin locally rather than inside the editor or through a connected site agent. These are vendor-described capabilities, not independent findings that one option is faster, more accurate, safer, or produces better work. See the vendor comparison.
