Choose Teamfight Tactics (TFT) if you want round-based PvP that rewards champion drafting, economy management, positioning, and adapting to opponents. They share the auto-battler format, but offer different kinds of strategy and different ways to play.
How do the matches differ?
Batomon Showdown: runs against saved boards
Batomon Showdown is built around asynchronous battles: you face saved opponent boards rather than playing each battle as a live, round-by-round contest. Shop decisions are untimed, so you can take time to consider your next move. A typical run aims for 10 wins and ends sooner if you lose all your lives. The community guide says teams can include up to six Batomon. The guide is published by Batomon.com, an independent community site rather than the developer; Steam’s game listing is the primary source for the game’s listing and release information.

TFT: rounds against live opponents
TFT pits players against one another in rounds until one player remains. Riot describes it as a game where players draft a team that battles automatically on their behalf. The decisions around that automatic fighting are the point: build a team from champions, manage gold, equip items, pursue synergies, and position units as the contest develops. Riot’s explainer provides an overview of that format.

What kind of strategy will you enjoy?
Pick Batomon for collection and team-building
Batomon Showdown centers on an original creature-collector setting. You collect and train Batomon, choose a trainer, and combine items, trinkets, and synergies to shape a team. Its asynchronous structure and untimed shop make it a natural fit if you prefer considering choices at your own pace rather than responding to a live opponent in the moment.

The independent community FAQ reports ranked seasons in the 1.0.0 release. Teamfight Tactics

Those details change with the game’s live content cycle: Riot’s official site showed Set 18, Enchanted Wilds, and patch 18.3 news dated September 22, 2026, when checked October 4, 2026. That is a dated snapshot, not a permanent description of the current set. Check Riot’s official site for the latest updates.
Which game should you choose?
- Choose Batomon Showdown for asynchronous battles, untimed shop choices, and a creature-collection focus.
- Choose TFT for round-based PvP, champion drafting, and the challenge of managing an economy and adapting your lineup.
- Choose by access, too: TFT is Riot’s free-to-play option across desktop and mobile; Batomon Showdown is a paid Steam game, with Android availability reported by its independent community FAQ.
Neither game is objectively better for every player. The meaningful distinction is whether you want a more deliberate, creature-centered run or a competitive, round-based drafting match.
