(SpaceX; Nasdaq: SPCX) at Overweight, with a $254 12-month price target in a client note dated October 8, 2026. Secondary reports attribute the call to analyst Anthony Valentini. The rating and target are analyst opinions; the available public summaries do not disclose enough of the underlying note to verify how Barclays calculated the target.
What did Barclays say about SpaceX?
Price Target’s October 8, 2026, report-republication page lists Barclays’ rating as Overweight and its price target as $254. Price Target’s report page says it reproduces the report verbatim, but the publicly displayed material does not provide a full valuation analysis.

Finbold reported on October 9 that it reviewed a Barclays client note sent October 8, described the target as a 12-month target, and attributed the initiation to Anthony Valentini. That is secondary reporting; it is not the complete Barclays note. Finbold’s account describes a thesis around competitive advantages and growth potential, including commercial launch and satellite communications.

What does the $254 target mean?
It is Barclays’ reported estimate of where SPCX shares might trade over a 12-month horizon, not a guaranteed outcome or an independently established fair value. A target is useful as a dated expression of an analyst’s view, but without the underlying assumptions it cannot show how sensitive that view is to execution, market conditions, or changes in the company’s prospects.

The public material reviewed does not establish Barclays’ valuation method, forecast assumptions by business segment, scenario analysis, or full discussion of risks. The $254 figure should therefore be understood as a reported analyst target, not as a price supported here by a reproduced model.
What is known about the analyst’s thesis?
Public summaries point to competitive advantages, growth, commercial launch, and satellite communications. GuruFocus, in an October 9 secondary report, reproduces this sentence attributed to Valentini: “SPCX and PLTR have deep competitive moats that enable unparalleled levels of growth and margins.” GuruFocus’ report is a secondary source, and the original Barclays note was not available to verify the quotation or its surrounding context. The quote does not establish the specific inputs behind the SpaceX target.

How should the company disclosures be separated from Barclays’ opinion?
SpaceX’s SEC-filed May 2026 roadshow material identifies Space Exploration Technologies Corp. as the issuer, SPCX as its ticker, and Nasdaq as its exchange. It also lists Barclays among the offering bookrunners. That is relevant context about Barclays’ role in the offering, but it does not by itself establish a conflict or disclose the contents of the bank’s research. The SEC-filed roadshow material supplies issuer and offering context, not the rationale for the rating.
SpaceX’s June 5, 2026, prospectus describes the company’s operations and financing. Among the disclosures, it records a $20 billion bridge-loan facility and capital expenditure across the Space, Connectivity, and AI segments. These are company disclosures, not figures or conclusions attributed to Barclays’ October initiation. The SpaceX EU Prospectus provides that company context.

What remains unknown from public reporting?
The available summaries do not establish the complete Barclays note, its valuation model, detailed segment assumptions, or its full set of risks and caveats. They also do not provide enough information to reconstruct the target responsibly. Any comparison with other analyst targets would need to align dates, currencies, horizons, and source quality; a consistently dated comparison set is not established here.
