The Baby Jogger City Select 2 is best understood as a single stroller you can convert for more children—not a ready-made double. The US standard model is listed at 26.71 lb, and the second-seat kit was listed separately at $229.99 when Baby Jogger’s page was accessed. Its appeal is flexibility; the trade-off is carrying a substantial stroller and paying for conversion parts as needed.
What the US City Select 2 includes—and what it doesn’t
Baby Jogger’s US listing identifies the standard City Select 2 as model 2148584, in Radiant Slate. The base stroller is described for single-child use, double use with a second seat or infant car seat, and a three-child setup with a glider board. Those configurations require additional equipment: the second seat, infant car seat, glider board and adapters are not all included with the base stroller. Check the exact bundle before buying. The listing highlighted a one-step fold, telescoping handlebar, front-wheel suspension, never-flat all-terrain tires, seat-back storage, adjustable recline and calf support, and an extended UV 50+ canopy with a peekaboo window. These are manufacturer-listed features, not independent test findings.

What it weighs, measures and can carry
For the US standard model, Baby Jogger lists a stroller weight of 26.71 lb and a width of 23.8 in. The page also gives a height of 41.1 in under stroller dimensions. Separately, it lists product dimensions of 23.81 in wide, 43.7 in high and 44.4 in deep. These are different measurement sets on the product page, so don’t treat the height figures as interchangeable.

The manufacturer’s US listing gives a child limit of 45 lb per seat and a 15 lb limit for the under-seat basket. The instruction manual adds a maximum child height of 40 in per child and allows up to 2 lb in each seat-back pocket. It warns that exceeding limits can make the stroller unstable and advises against hanging bags from the handle. Consult the City Select 2 instruction manual for the complete requirements.
Going from one child to two—or three
Adding a second seat
The second-seat kit is a separate purchase, not a built-in second seat. When accessed for this review, Baby Jogger’s US page listed the stroller at $659.99 and the second-seat kit at $229.99. The page also listed a glider board at $129.99. These are manufacturer-page prices at that time, not guaranteed current prices; check the listing for current price, stock and bundle contents.
For a third child, the US page describes using a glider board. Verify which accessories are included with a particular package and whether the intended configuration works for your children and daily routes. A configuration count describes possible arrangements, not necessarily what comes in the box.

Checking older adapters and replacement parts
Whether older second-seat adapters fit is a generation- and part-specific question. The official pages identify a City Select 2 second-seat kit, but do not establish that adapters from the original City Select or City Select Lux fit the City Select 2. Before ordering, give Baby Jogger the stroller model number, manufacture date and adapter part number and ask for confirmation.
Car-seat compatibility depends on the exact model
Baby Jogger’s US page names Baby Jogger, Britax, Chicco, Graco, Nuna and UPPAbaby as compatible car-seat brands, while warning that compatible models vary by brand. The US page listed a Graco car-seat adapter at $49.99 when accessed. A brand name alone is not enough to establish fit: check the current car-seat compatibility information for the exact car seat, stroller generation and required adapter before buying.
Regional listings differ, too. Baby Jogger Europe’s City Select 2 Eco Collection page names Maxi-Cosi, Cybex and BeSafe car-seat brands. Those European compatibility details should not be assumed to apply to the US model or to every seat sold under those brands.

US and European specifications are not interchangeable
The US standard model and the European Eco Collection listing have different specifications and configuration claims. Treat them as separate regional listings rather than combining the figures into one universal City Select 2 specification.

The European listing describes the Frosted Ivory Eco Collection model. Its figures and accessories are not a substitute for the US standard model’s specifications. Baby Jogger’s US and European pages also make a claim that the stroller folds 20% smaller than the 2020 UPPAbaby Vista V2; that is the manufacturer’s comparison, not an independent measurement.
Safety limits and everyday use
The manual is explicit: “This stroller is not suitable for running, jogging, skating or inline skating.” It also instructs caregivers to secure the harness, check that attachments are engaged, and lock the brake when loading or unloading and whenever the stroller is stationary. Use approved accessories and supplied or approved replacement parts.

For a newborn, the manual says to use the most reclined seat position. Keep using that position until the child can sit unaided, roll over or push up on hands and knees. Follow the current manual’s full instructions for assembly, use and care rather than relying on a product-page feature summary.

Baby Jogger’s product page showed 4.1 out of 5 from 794 reviews when accessed; the page metadata was dated October 4, 2026. That is a manufacturer-hosted, changeable aggregate, not an independent reliability assessment. Individual reports on the page praise folding, storage and double use. Other reviewers described difficulty lifting the stroller into a car, a broken recline lever, handle covering that peeled, a parking brake that stuck, and trouble finding second-seat adapters. These reports flag issues a prospective buyer may want to inspect or ask about; they do not establish how often a fault occurs or represent every owner’s experience.

Who should consider it?
The City Select 2 makes the most sense for a family that values a modular setup and is willing to buy the specific parts needed for a future double configuration. Before choosing it, assess the whole system rather than the base-stroller price alone:
- Whether the second seat or other conversion hardware is included—or must be purchased separately.
- The stroller’s lifting weight and folded dimensions against your car, storage space and routine.
- Whether the seat limits and basket capacity suit your children and the items you carry.
- Which seating positions and infant-car-seat arrangement you need.
- Exact compatibility among stroller generation, car seat and adapter.
- The total price after adding the accessories required for your intended setup.
Manufacturer pages and individual customer reports do not replace an in-person check. If possible, try lifting and folding the exact model and inspect the intended second-seat or car-seat arrangement before committing.
Recall and used-stroller checks
Historical CPSC notices cover Baby Jogger car-seat adapters from 2013 and the City Versa stroller from 2012; those notices concern different products, not the City Select 2. A search of those results does not establish a City Select 2 recall, and it is not a guarantee that no notice exists. When buying used, check the stroller’s model and manufacture date against current official safety and recall information, and have any adapter’s exact part number confirmed.
