The Baby Jogger City Elite 2 is an all-terrain stroller with large rubber tires, all-wheel suspension, a near-flat recline and a one-hand fold. The details are not identical across markets: official European product information sets a 22 kg child limit and says the stroller is not intended for jogging, while New Zealand and Australian pages list 34 kg and New Zealand gives limited jogging guidance. This review focuses on the City Elite 2, the model identified by the current official product information—not every stroller sold as City Elite—and separates those regional specifications rather than treating them as universal.
Available evidence supports a specification-led assessment, not a hands-on performance verdict. Use the product page and manual for the exact stroller sold in your market when deciding whether its capacity, intended use and newborn configuration fit your needs.

What kind of stroller is the City Elite 2?
Baby Jogger positions the City Elite 2 for all-terrain use. Its European product page lists large “forever-air” rubber tires and all-wheel suspension, alongside a near-flat reclining seat, adjustable calf support and adjustable handlebar. Those features describe the manufacturer’s design; they do not establish how the stroller performs on a particular route or how it compares with other models.

The EU page also lists a hand-operated parking brake and a full-coverage canopy with UV 50+ protection, a magnetic peek-a-boo window and side vents. The basket capacity on that page is 4.5 kg. These are useful features to weigh against your everyday needs, but the quoted capacities and dimensions below are market-specific manufacturer specifications.

Which regional specifications apply?
Official pages differ on child capacity, jogging advice, weight and dimensions. The sources do not explain why the specifications vary, so do not combine them into one universal specification. Confirm the label and manual for the exact stroller you are considering.
| Market/source | Child limit and use guidance | Weight | Folded dimensions | Unfolded dimensions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Europe | Birth to 22 kg; manufacturer says the stroller is not intended for jogging. Baby Jogger Europe product page | 11.7 kg | 82 × 68 × 36.7 cm | 115.7 cm high; page does not state the full unfolded footprint. |
| Poland | Up to 22 kg; page references PN-EN 1888-2:2019-02. Baby Jogger Poland product page | 11.7 kg | 82 × 67.5 × 36 cm | 111.8 × 67.5 × 115.2 cm |
| New Zealand | Lists 34 kg; permits jogging on level ground with precautions, advises avoiding hills where possible and recommends babies be at least six months old with the front wheel locked. Baby Jogger New Zealand product page | 11.7 kg | 82 × 68 × 36.7 cm | 113.3 × 68 × 115.7 cm |
| Australia | Birth to 34 kg. Baby Jogger Australia product page | 11.9 kg | Not stated on the cited product page. | Not stated on the cited product page. |
The EU and Poland pages specify a 22 kg child limit, while the New Zealand and Australian pages list 34 kg. The New Zealand jogging guidance is not universal: the EU page explicitly says the stroller is not intended for jogging. Follow the supplied manual and manufacturer guidance for your region rather than applying another market’s limit or advice.

How does it fold, and how much space does it take?
The EU page describes a one-hand fold with an auto-lock. That is a listed design feature, not an independent assessment of folding effort or convenience. For storage and transport, compare the folded measurements in the table with your car boot, hallway or storage space; small differences between markets are present in the published figures.

The EU page lists a width of 68 cm and height of 115.7 cm. Poland lists a 30.5 cm wheel diameter. These values, like the folded dimensions, are manufacturer specifications rather than independently measured results.

Can you use it from birth?
Newborn use depends on the setup. Baby Jogger Europe says the City Elite 2 can be paired with its carrycot for use from day one, and describes a travel system using compatible infant car seats and separately sold adapters. The near-flat seat recline is another feature, but it should not be treated as a substitute for checking the manufacturer’s instructions for newborn use.
Compatibility and included parts vary by market and configuration. Australia names the City GO capsule with included adapters and certain Maxi-Cosi models with adapters sold separately. The Poland product page lists examples of Cybex, Maxi-Cosi and City Go i-Size adapters. Before buying, check the current official compatibility information for the exact infant-seat model and adapter; a brand name alone does not establish a fit.

The City Elite 2 manual says a car seat attached to the chassis does not replace a cot or bed for sleep. Read the manual supplied with your stroller for the applicable instructions.
What do the manual’s load limits mean?
The linked City Elite 2 manual states a recommended total load of 28 kg, allocated as 22 kg in the seat, 1 kg in the seat-back pocket and 4.5 kg in the basket. That is the manual’s allocation, not permission to exceed the child limit listed for your regional model. Confirm the manual that comes with the exact stroller, particularly because regional product pages list different child capacities.

The manual also warns against unapproved accessories and says to use only replacement parts supplied or approved by Baby Jogger. Do not assume a third-party accessory or a product for an earlier City Elite generation is compatible.
What accessories and care should you factor in?
The European page lists the carrycot, child tray, parent console and glider board as accessories sold separately. The Poland page lists a rain cover, and Baby Jogger’s glider-board listing includes the City Elite 2 among compatible stroller models. Accessory availability and fit should be checked against the current listing for your region and stroller generation.
For the seat fabric, the EU product page says to remove the metal frame and PE boards before washing cold on a gentle or delicate cycle, then drip dry. It recommends getting a replacement seat cover through an authorized Baby Jogger dealer. Clean wheels with a damp cloth and dry them completely before use.

Who should consider the City Elite 2?
It may suit a buyer looking for a single-child stroller with suspension, large rubber tires, a reclining seat and a compact listed fold. Whether it is the right choice depends on the exact regional model and on practical constraints that a feature list cannot settle: your child’s weight, the surfaces and routes you use, storage space, newborn setup and the accessories available where you live.
- Check intended use: distinguish everyday walking from jogging, and use only the guidance for your market.
- Check the child limit: the cited official pages list 22 kg in Europe and Poland and 34 kg in New Zealand and Australia.
- Measure your space: compare the region-specific folded footprint and weight with your vehicle and storage area.
- Plan the newborn configuration: verify the carrycot or exact infant seat and adapter rather than assuming compatibility.
- Include accessory needs: trays, consoles, rain covers and other accessories may be separate purchases or vary by region.
The available official material supports a feature and specification overview, not a hands-on verdict, independent safety or durability finding, or head-to-head winner. Base a purchase decision on the exact market version and its current manual and compatibility information.
