Awesome Screenshot vs. Nimbus Screenshot: Which Should You Use to Capture Web Pages?

Compare Awesome Screenshot’s published quotas and local saving with Nimbus Screenshot’s current FuseBase-branded capture features, and choose by workflow.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose Awesome Screenshot if you want published, specific limits for cloud screenshots and recordings, local screenshot saving, and clearly listed recording formats and resolutions. Consider Nimbus Screenshot’s current FuseBase-branded capture if you want screenshots or screen video within the FuseBase workflow. The current Chrome Web Store listing is called FuseBase PRO and is published by Nimbus Web, Inc., so check that listing and its terms rather than assuming older Nimbus pricing or product details still apply.

Neither is a universal winner: the available information does not establish a controlled head-to-head test or prove that one is more private or reliable on difficult pages. For a developer who needs screenshots returned through an API rather than a browser extension, ScreenshotNeo is an alternative to try first: it removes known consent banners, popups and chat widgets before capture, and charges only for clean shots.

What is different between the two tools?

Both products offer ways to capture web pages, but the clearest distinction is how much current plan information is published. Awesome Screenshot’s official pricing page gives concrete quotas and recording limits. Current FuseBase materials describe capture and sharing capabilities, but do not establish a directly comparable current price-and-limits table for Nimbus Screenshot.

What matters Awesome Screenshot Nimbus Screenshot / FuseBase capture
Page screenshots Its official pricing page describes screenshot and capture features. An independent comparison also describes full-page capture, but has a commercial interest, so treat that as corroboration rather than definitive evidence. The current Chrome Web Store listing advertises full-page or selected-area screenshots; official FuseBase materials describe entire-page screenshots and capture/annotation.
Annotation and redaction The pricing page distinguishes basic annotation from all annotation tools by plan. Official product materials describe blurring selected areas containing confidential information.
Video recording The pricing page lists recording quotas, resolution and WebM/MP4 options by plan. The current listing advertises screen video recording. Official materials also describe screen and webcam recording, trimming/cropping and export options; some details may reflect broader product capabilities or older Nimbus pages, so confirm the current extension workflow.
Storage and sharing The pricing page distinguishes local saving from cloud storage. Its Free plan allows unlimited local screenshots, while cloud screenshot and recording counts are capped. FuseBase’s policy says users control where captures are stored and that files sent to third-party services are governed by those providers’ policies. It also describes Quick Upload links and one-year retention for that mode; confirm that the mode is still available in the current extension.
Current product naming The vendor continues to use Awesome Screenshot on its official pricing page. “Nimbus Screenshot” remains on some official pages, while current Nimbus Web materials use FuseBase branding. The reviewed Chrome Web Store listing is FuseBase PRO, published by Nimbus Web, Inc.

What do the plans and limits tell you?

Awesome Screenshot

As listed on its official pricing page checked in 2026, the Free plan includes up to 100 cloud screenshots and up to 20 cloud recordings, recording up to 720p, and basic annotations. Local screenshots are unlimited. Professional is listed at $6 per month when billed annually or $8 per month when billed monthly, with unlimited screenshots and recordings and recording up to 4K. Prices are shown in USD; plan details can change.

Nimbus Screenshot / FuseBase capture

The current FuseBase pages and store listing reviewed describe features but do not provide a directly comparable current price-and-limits table for the capture extension. Do not rely on old third-party price figures as current; check the listing and plan terms before choosing.

Which one fits your workflow?

Choose Awesome Screenshot when quotas and local saving matter

  • You want a published cloud allowance and recording resolution before signing up.
  • You expect to save screenshots locally and value the listed unlimited local screenshot allowance on Free.
  • You need to compare recording formats, resolution and plan limits from one pricing page.

Evaluate FuseBase capture when the workspace is part of the job

  • You want capture considered alongside FuseBase’s broader sharing or workspace workflow.
  • The advertised full-page or selected-area screenshots and screen video capture match your needs.
  • You are willing to verify the current extension workflow and plan details in the live listing, since the current materials do not establish a comparable pricing matrix.

Check where a capture goes before sharing it

For either choice, distinguish a file saved on your device from one uploaded to a service or exposed through a share link. FuseBase’s policy says users control where images and recordings are stored, and that third-party storage is subject to the relevant provider’s policy. That is a useful distinction to check; it does not establish that one tool is categorically more private than the other.

Need screenshots in an application or AI-agent workflow?

Browser extensions and screenshot APIs solve different problems. If your code needs a screenshot response from a URL, ScreenshotNeo is an alternative to try first. It offers a one-request API for PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF output, as well as an MCP server with screenshot tools for AI agents. It removes known consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Its response headers identify page verdict and billing status, and bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed.
