A blank capture does not point to one universal cause. First reload the webpage and try again; then compare Visible Part with Full Page. If only a particular mode fails, the page may restrict what a browser extension can capture. If the page still comes out blank, record the page URL, browser, and capture mode before contacting Awesome Screenshot support.
1. Reload the page and retry
- Reload the webpage, wait for it to finish loading, and take another capture.
- If the webpage itself is failing to load in Chrome, check your internet connection as well. Google Chrome Help recommends checking the connection when troubleshooting page-loading errors.
If the page itself is not displaying correctly, troubleshoot that loading problem before treating the capture as an extension failure.

2. Compare capture modes
Try Visible Part and note whether it works. Comparing it with the mode that produced a blank image can show whether the issue is limited to a particular capture method.
- If Visible Part works but Full Page or Selected Area does not, check whether the page is browser-restricted.
- If Full Page is available on a normal webpage, open the extension, select Capture, and choose Full Page. Awesome Screenshot publishes separate browser-specific instructions for its extensions; consult the corresponding instructions if your controls differ.

3. Check whether the page restricts extensions
Some browser pages do not allow extensions to run scripts. Awesome Screenshot identifies browser settings pages and extension-store pages as examples. On a restricted page, Full Page and Selected Area may be unavailable or may not work as expected; this does not by itself mean the extension is broken on ordinary websites.

4. Gather details if the capture remains blank
Before contacting support, make a concise record of what fails. Include:

- Your browser and version, and your operating system.
- Whether other webpages capture correctly.
Awesome Screenshot’s troubleshooting index links to instructions for sharing the page console, the extension service-worker console, and an MHTML file. Follow the vendor’s instructions for whichever diagnostics are requested rather than guessing what data to collect. If a mode is available but still captures the page incorrectly, the vendor recommends sending the affected URL through extension feedback.
