Avengers: Doomsday does not have a confirmed final theatrical runtime in the cited reports. Anthony Russo described the cut at the time as “a two and a half hour movie or so”—an estimate, not an exact announcement.
What runtime did the directors give for Avengers: Doomsday?
In an interview with Fandango reported by GamesRadar+ on September 30, 2026, Anthony Russo described the current cut as “a two and a half hour movie or so.” That puts the working estimate at around two and a half hours, but the phrase “or so” makes clear it is approximate rather than a precise runtime.

The comments do not establish whether that estimate includes the credits. They also do not confirm that the cut will be the version shown in theaters.

No. In an earlier interview at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Russo said, “It’s too early to say what the running time is. But it’s substantial.” He also said, “We’re deep in the edit, but we are not finished with the movie,” according to GamesRadar+ in August 2026.

The two remarks describe different stages of editing: the earlier one explicitly says a runtime was premature, while the later one gives an approximate description of a cut. Neither is a finalized theatrical listing.
When is Avengers: Doomsday scheduled to come out?
Disney’s official film page lists the U.S. theatrical release date as December 18, 2026, and names Anthony and Joe Russo as the directors. A final runtime may be clearer closer to release, but the date alone does not confirm one.
