FlexBinsPort targets mixed-height bin work
FlexBinsPort is designed to let a single workstation handle all standard AutoStore bin heights. That removes the need to organize work around one bin dimension at a station and is intended to make mixed-bin operations more practical.
AutoStore estimates that the approach can improve storage utilization by 10–15% while also increasing labor efficiency. Those are company estimates for the feature, not independently verified measurements. The announced release window is Q4 2026, expressed as a quarter rather than a firm date or a guaranteed launch in every market.

AutoCase adds cases to each-picking
AutoCase is the most significant workflow expansion in the announcement. It adds full-case handling alongside individual-item picking within one AutoStore system, so a site can support both order profiles instead of routing cases through a separate process by default.
The release specifies support for cases up to 600 × 400 mm beginning in Q1 2027. Multiple stations can work on the same task group in parallel, creating a continuous downstream case flow for activities such as palletizing and packaging. AutoStore identifies live environments at Nowaste Logistics in Sweden and Komplett in Norway.
Pio Pal brings robotic picking to smaller operations
Pio Pal is positioned as a lower-commitment entry point through a Robotics-as-a-Service model. Rather than requiring a smaller business to make the same type of upfront automation commitment as a large installation, the service model is intended to make robotic picking accessible to a broader customer group.

For pre-picked orders, AutoStore reports workstation performance of up to 540 order lines per hour. It also says new pre-picking capabilities can raise performance by up to three times without additional labor. The release characterizes single-line pre-picking as relevant to 40–60% of consumer e-commerce orders; that proportion is an AutoStore statement, not an independently corroborated industry statistic in the available material.
Norwegian apparel brand Famme is identified as live on Pio Pal, with further adoption planned for Q1 2027. The announcement does not disclose subscription pricing, service-level terms, payback periods or the conditions behind the throughput figure.
VersaAI expands piece-picking automation
AutoStore says its robotic piece-picking work is expanding through automated item induction, barcode scanning at the workstation and robotic cycle counting for inventory validation. The release also describes support for more AutoStore configurations and says VersaAI can be deployed in both new and existing systems.

CubeExplore models the business case
CubeExplore is a GenAI-powered ROI modeling tool for AutoStore partners and prospective customers. It uses operational benchmarks and comparable project data to construct investment scenarios and business cases. Its role is pre-deployment analysis: helping a team test assumptions about capacity, labor and returns before committing to a design.
Because the release does not publish the underlying benchmark set, model accuracy, regional assumptions or financial outputs, CubeExplore should support—not replace—site data, labor-rate validation and a customer’s own investment approval process.

- Check the operating model. Pio Pal’s Robotics-as-a-Service approach is aimed at a different commitment level from capabilities added to an existing AutoStore installation.
- Validate physical requirements. For AutoCase, confirm case dimensions, packaging variation, palletizing interfaces and downstream equipment against the planned configuration.
- Separate estimates from demonstrated deployments. Named live sites provide deployment context, while percentages and throughput figures remain AutoStore-reported claims.

The next decision is therefore not whether the entire lineup is available, but which specific workflow, site and evidence standard justify moving forward.
