AULUMU’s B01 and B02 Urban Gear sling bags use a detachable magnetic phone compartment that sits on the bag’s exterior. The idea is to let you take out and return a compatible iPhone without opening the main compartment. The B02 is the compact, essentials-only option; the larger B01 is designed to carry more.
How AULUMU’s magnetic phone compartment works
On both bags, the phone compartment detaches from the bag and attaches magnetically to its exterior. AULUMU says this lets you reach the phone, use it, and put it back without opening the main bag. The B02 page sums up the concept as “Take phone, call, put back, just one hand.” That is the manufacturer’s description, not an independently tested performance result.
AULUMU’s comparison article frames the problem as having to search a bag for a phone or worrying that it could get scratched by keys or other sharp objects. The external compartment is the brand’s proposed solution; no evidence establishes that it prevents scratches, phone loss, or improves safety.
What the B02 offers—and what it fits
The B02 Urban Quick-Access Phone Sling Bag is the smaller model, intended for a phone and a few essentials rather than a larger everyday load. AULUMU lists its capacity as approximately 0.3 L and its weight as approximately 135 g. Its listed dimensions are 20.5 cm × 11 cm × 0.2 cm at the bottom × 1 cm at the top. AULUMU’s B02 product page displayed a price of $89 on October 3, 2026. Price, stock and color availability can change. The page lists Matte Black, Glossy Black and Pulse Green.
Check phone and case compatibility before buying
The magnetic compartment is specified for iPhone 12 series and later iPhone models. AULUMU says other smartphone brands and models are unsupported, and requires a MagSafe-compatible case. Do not assume that a different phone or a case without MagSafe compatibility will work.

Weather and hardware claims
AULUMU describes the B02 fabric as water-resistant, not waterproof. Water may enter through seams, zippers or other openings, and the brand does not recommend prolonged exposure to heavy rain. The product page also names a Fidlock magnetic buckle and YKK zippers; these are manufacturer-listed components, not independent durability or weather-test results.

The main difference is storage. AULUMU positions the B02 for quick outings with essentials and the B01 for carrying more. The B01 has a listed capacity of 2.5 L, expandable to 3.5 L, while the B02 has approximately 0.3 L of fixed capacity.

What to weigh before choosing either bag
- Choose the B02 if compact carry is the priority and your phone, case and model meet AULUMU’s compatibility requirements.
- Consider the B01 if you need room for items beyond phone-sized essentials, such as a power bank or compact umbrella.
- Do not rely on the B02 in heavy rain: AULUMU explicitly says it is not fully waterproof and cautions against prolonged heavy-rain exposure.
- Treat the convenience claim as a design promise: the sources describe how the magnetic compartment is intended to work, but provide no independent test results.
