Amazon Prime does not include an ongoing Audible membership, so Audible costs extra. As of Audible’s 2026 U.S. plan information, Audible Standard is $8.99 per month and Audible Premium with one monthly credit is $14.95 per month. Eligible Prime members may see a free Premium trial that includes two audiobooks, but that is a limited offer—not Audible included for as long as they keep Prime.

Premium’s included catalog is not the entire Audible catalog: use a credit for eligible Premium selections outside the included listening collection. Standard and Premium also differ in what happens to a selected audiobook: Standard access lasts only while membership continues, whereas Premium credits redeem eligible titles. What Prime does—and does not—pay for
Audible states that its membership is not included with Amazon Prime. Prime members therefore pay the applicable Audible price if they subscribe; Prime itself does not provide an ongoing Audible plan or a standing membership discount. Audible does say eligible Prime members may be offered a free Audible Premium trial with two audiobooks. Eligibility and promotional terms apply, so check the offer presented to your account rather than assuming every Prime member receives it. Which plan makes sense?
- Choose Standard if: one selected audiobook a month is enough and you are comfortable losing access to those selections if the membership ends.
- Consider Premium monthly if: you want a monthly credit for Premium selections, access to the included catalog while subscribed, and member discounts.
- Consider annual Premium if: you prefer paying once for a year and want the listed allotment of 12 or 24 credits supplied at purchase.
Audible Plus appears at $7.95 per month for existing members, but Audible says new members have been unable to sign up for Plus since March 3, 2026. It is therefore not a currently available entry plan for new subscribers. Audible plan information

Amazon Music Unlimited is a separate subscription from Prime and Audible. Audible says qualifying Music Unlimited Individual subscribers, and the primary account holder on a Family plan, can listen to one Audible audiobook per month.
