ATN BlazeTrek Thermal Monocular: BlazeTrek 6 Models Compared

ATN’s BlazeTrek 6 319, 325, 619 and 625 differ in sensor resolution and lens size. Compare their published specifications and learn why detection range is not an identification guarantee.

The ATN BlazeTrek 6 comes in four variants: 319, 325, 619 and 625. The key choices are sensor resolution and lens size: the 3xx models use a 384×288 sensor, the 6xx models use 640×512, and 19 mm lenses show a wider field of view than 25 mm lenses. ATN publishes detection ranges of 1,000 m for the 19 mm models and 1,300 m for the 25 mm models; those are manufacturer specifications, not guaranteed identification distances.

BlazeTrek 6 model specifications

The figures below are from ATN’s BlazeTrek 6 manual. They are manufacturer-published specifications, and ATN says specifications may change; check the manual for the exact model before buying.

Model Sensor Lens Field of view (H×V) Published detection range Magnification
BlazeTrek 319 384×288 19 mm 14.4°×10.8° 1,000 m 2.25–18×
BlazeTrek 325 384×288 25 mm 10.9°×8.2° 1,300 m 2.8–22×
BlazeTrek 619 640×512 19 mm 22.8°×18.3° 1,000 m 1.5–12×
BlazeTrek 625 640×512 25 mm 17.5°×14° 1,300 m 1.75–14×

ATN also lists shared BlazeTrek 6 specifications: 50 Hz refresh rate, thermal sensitivity of ≤18 mK, an 800×600 OLED display, 12 μm VOx uncooled detectors, manual focus from 1 m to infinity, and 1×/2×/4×/8× digital zoom.

How to choose between 319, 325, 619 and 625

Choose by sensor resolution

The model number’s first digit identifies the sensor class in ATN’s manual: 319 and 325 are 384×288, while 619 and 625 are 640×512. The higher-resolution pair therefore offers more sensor pixels on paper. Specifications alone do not establish how clearly a particular target will appear in specific weather or at a particular distance.

  • MAXIMUM DETAIL FOR LONG RANGE THERMAL OBSERVATION — 640×512 sensor with ≤18 mK NETD and 12 μm pixel pitch delivers superior clarity and detection of heat signatures at extended distances.
  • SHARPIR AI ENHANCES EDGE CLARITY AND TARGET SEPARATION — See defined shapes and movement instead of blended heat when scanning large areas or watching distant terrain.
  • CHOOSE YOUR GERMANIUM LENS FOR REACH OR FIELD OF VIEW — 19 mm and 25 mm options provide flexibility for wide scanning or long-distance observation with detection up to 1300 m.
  • HIGH CONTRAST OLED DISPLAY WITH SMART VIEWING TOOLS — 800×600 OLED screen, Hot Point Tracking, and multiple palettes help you read heat signatures comfortably during long sessions.
  • BUILT FOR EXPLORATION AND EXTENDED USE — Lightweight 320 g body with IP67 waterproof rating, up to 8 hours of runtime, internal recording, and WiFi connectivity for field sharing and review.

Choose by lens and field of view

Within either sensor class, the 19 mm version has a wider listed field of view and lower published detection range than the 25 mm version. The 25 mm lens narrows the view and has the longer published detection figure. This is the trade-off reflected in ATN’s table; which is preferable depends on whether scene coverage or the narrower-view, longer-range specification better fits the intended use.

Compare like with like: the 319 and 325 share a sensor resolution, as do the 619 and 625. A 319-versus-325 decision is principally the 19 mm/wider-view option against 25 mm/narrower-view option. The same lens trade-off applies to the 619 and 625.

What ATN’s detection range does—and does not—mean

ATN lists 1,000 m for the 319 and 619, and 1,300 m for the 325 and 625. These are manufacturer-published detection figures, not independent field measurements or a promise that a user can identify or recognize a target at that distance. Detection, recognition and identification are different outcomes; the table does not establish reliable identification range. Actual viewing results can vary with conditions and target characteristics.

Features, power and included items

ATN’s product and manual materials describe wireless app connectivity, still-photo and video capture, rechargeable power, and USB Type-C charging. ATN’s product page gives the 319 16 GB of internal memory and up to eight hours of operation. “Up to” is a manufacturer claim, not a guaranteed runtime, and the product-page claim should not be assumed to apply unchanged to every variant.

  • ADVANCED THERMAL SENSOR 640x512 (50 HZ) 12 μm (microns) pixel size and 19 mm lens for detection range up to 990m.
  • NETD NETD RATING <25mK: Exceptional NETD rating for high sensitivity to temperature variations creating an overall better image.
  • MULTIPLE VIEWING MODES Five color palettes to choose from: White Hot, Black Hot, Iron Red, Alarm, Sepia, and Green Hot for a custom viewing experience.
  • VIDEO RECORD AND PHOTO Built-in still image and video recording capabilities. Videos and pictures can be stored on a MicroSD card with a capacity of up to 256GB.
  • BUILT-IN WI-FI AND APP CONNECTIVITY Wireless connect to smart phone and App to adjust the monocular, take photos or record thermal video directly from the smart phone.

The BlazeTrek 6 manual’s unpacking list includes a USB Type-C cable, wristband, lanyard, lens cloth, monocular pouch and manual. Those listed items do not establish a need to buy duplicate accessories.

BlazeTrek versus BlazeTrek 6: check the generation

ATN’s BlazeTrek 6 is presented as the newer generation, but older BlazeTrek documentation is not interchangeable with the BlazeTrek 6 manual. The legacy manual contains older specifications and a three-year product warranty; the BlazeTrek 6 manual page presents a five-year limited warranty for that generation. Legacy specification tables also contain inconsistencies in model labels and values. When evaluating an older listing, match its exact generation and model to the corresponding current manual rather than transferring BlazeTrek 6 specifications to it.

Warranty terms for BlazeTrek 6

ATN’s BlazeTrek 6 warranty documentation describes a five-year limited warranty. It says the rechargeable lithium-ion battery is covered for manufacturing defects under the same warranty conditions, while gradual capacity loss through normal use is excluded. The stated terms apply to the original purchaser and are non-transferable; exclusions include misuse, unauthorized modification or repair, and certain discontinued or “as-is” sales. ATN requests an RMA and proof of purchase for service. Confirm the terms that apply to the exact product and sale when purchasing.

Care and practical checks before purchase

ATN describes the monocular as a precision electro-optical instrument. Its legacy instructions advise avoiding scratches or contact with external lens surfaces and keeping the instrument in its protective cover when not in use. Follow the manual supplied for the exact generation.
