Astro SEO Theme is David Rueda’s free, MIT-licensed starter for B2B SaaS and enterprise websites. Its author says it achieves a 100/100 Lighthouse Performance score, but the reviewed project materials do not include an independently reproducible report, so treat that figure as a project claim—not a result guaranteed for every installation or finished site.
What Astro SEO Theme is
David Rueda introduced the theme in a DEV Community post published September 25, 2026. It is a downloadable Astro template, not a hosted website builder or SaaS product. The project is intended for marketing sites and describes a landing page, a Markdown- or MDX-driven blog, case studies, and English and Spanish routes. Read the author’s DEV Community post and view the project repository.

Documented stack and content
The README lists Astro 5, Tailwind CSS 4, React 19, and TypeScript. It also describes author-profile data and reusable SEO components. These are the project’s documented capabilities; they do not by themselves establish the quality of a finished website or its search performance.
What the 100/100 Lighthouse claim means
The project README labels its performance as “100/100 Lighthouse Performance.” The author’s post also says the template was validated for mobile and desktop categories and describes zero client-side JavaScript by default, except where a feature such as the React dark-mode toggle needs it. Those are claims made by the project, not independently verified benchmark findings.
#1 Best Overall
The reviewed sources do not provide a dated, reproducible Lighthouse report identifying the tested URL and build, Lighthouse version, device settings, or test procedure. That leaves the reported score difficult for readers to reproduce or assess. It should not be read as a promise that a customized or deployed site will score 100: content, scripts, configuration, and deployment can all affect a site’s results.
SEO features the project documents
The README describes technical SEO features intended to help configure a marketing site:
Rank #2
- HTML CSS Design and Build Web Sites
- Comes with secure packaging
- It can be a gift option
- Centralized metadata and canonical URL handling.
hreflangsupport for the documented English and Spanish routes.- JSON-LD components for structured data.
- Sitemap generation and a static
robots.txt. - Markdown and MDX content for blog material.
These features provide implementation tools; they do not establish ranking gains, validate every page’s structured data, or guarantee that search engines will index a site as intended. The project’s stated language routes also do not remove the need to supply accurate translations and check each localized page.

Set it up and configure the production domain
The README lists Node.js 18 or later and npm as requirements, with pnpm and yarn as alternatives. It documents scaffolding through the Astro CLI, installing dependencies, starting a development server, and creating a production build. Follow the current README for exact commands, since repository instructions may change.

Set the site URL before building for production
Before publishing, set the correct site value in astro.config.mjs. The README warns that leaving it incorrect can make the generated sitemap and robots.txt point to the wrong domain. After deployment, inspect those generated files and confirm that their URLs use the live site’s domain.
Deployment and security configuration
The project describes static output that can be served by a static host, and documents deployment paths for Vercel, Netlify, and Cloudflare Pages. Its README also includes Content Security Policy and other response-header configuration aimed at Vercel deployments. The policy can block third-party scripts unless it is adjusted, so review it against the scripts and services the finished site actually uses. Alternative deployment destinations are documented, but the reviewed material does not compare their prices or performance.

- A handy two-book set that uniquely combines related technologies Highly visual format and accessible language makes these books highly effective learning tools Perfect for beginning web designers and front-end developers
License and fit
The repository states that the theme is MIT licensed and free for personal and commercial projects. It may suit a team looking for an Astro foundation with marketing-page components, blog and case-study content, localization routes, and SEO-related configuration. Before adopting it, check the repository’s current documentation and code against your requirements, especially if you need additional languages, integrations, or a different security policy.
