The Astra product identified for this comparison, Astra Streaming Studio, is an Android app for originating live video from a mobile device; its listing does not establish unattended, prerecorded 24/7 YouTube looping. These tools address different workflows, so “better” depends on whether your source is a live phone camera or prerecorded files you want to replay. The available Astra listing does not show that it provides Gyre-style unattended looping.
What Astra Streaming Studio does
The Google Play listing describes Astra Streaming Studio as an Android app for streaming live content from a device. It can also be used as an IP camera or video recorder. Listed capabilities include H.264/AAC encoding; SRT caller, listener, and rendezvous modes; RTMP and RTSP, including secure variants; MP4 saving; multiple simultaneous connections; camera switching; screen capture; pictures and slideshows; filters; and scenes that can be changed during a broadcast. The listing shows an update date of 31 October 2023.

What Gyre does
Gyre’s official product page describes a cloud workflow: upload videos to Gyre Storage, arrange them into playlists, connect a YouTube channel, and launch scheduled streams. Because the stream runs from Gyre’s servers, the creator does not need to leave a computer running at home. Gyre describes its looping behavior with the vendor statement, “Playlist ends, it restarts.”

Gyre is therefore the more direct match of the two compared products when your goal is to keep prerecorded material running on a YouTube channel. It is not a substitute for a mobile camera app when you need to originate a live scene from a phone.

The Gyre homepage, accessed 3 October 2026, lists the following monthly prices and capacities. The page also shows different prices for multi-month billing, so check the live page for the term you intend to buy.

These are figures published by Gyre, not independent measurements. Plans differ in simultaneous stream capacity and storage. Astra Streaming Studio’s Google Play result says “In-app purchases,” but does not provide a dependable current price in the retrieved listing, so a like-for-like price comparison cannot be made from that information.
YouTube eligibility, authorization, and monetization
Check channel eligibility first
YouTube’s live-streaming help is the starting point for current eligibility and account restrictions. YouTube states that an account restricted from live streaming cannot use another channel to stream on YouTube. Check your channel’s status and the current platform rules before setting up any third-party service.

Authorize the service and verify stream details
Gyre says its channel-authorization feature creates broadcasts through the YouTube API and can configure broadcast metadata. Review the stream’s title, visibility, audience designation, and schedule in the current YouTube controls before it starts; do not assume a service’s defaults match your channel’s needs.

Do not assume monetization is automatic
A stream being live does not by itself establish that ads will run. Gyre’s September 2026 article says automatic monetization depends on a YouTube Studio setting for streams created by third-party tools. Check the current YouTube Studio controls for that setting and confirm the stream is eligible under YouTube’s policies. YouTube’s API automation article explains Gyre’s authorization workflow; its statements about product behavior are Gyre’s own.

Use only material you have rights to stream
A 24/7 playlist still has to comply with YouTube’s copyright and channel policies. Confirm you have the necessary rights for every video, music track, image, and other element in the playlist, and review YouTube’s current rules on reused content if monetization matters. Continuous playback does not make copyrighted or reused material permissible.
