Often, yes: YouTube may save a completed live gaming stream as a replay on the channel, where it appears as a video. But not every stream is guaranteed to be captured or publicly viewable. Streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured. The creator also controls the archive’s visibility.
When a live gaming stream becomes a replay
YouTube says a channel may post a replay after a live stream ends. When the channel retains or posts it, viewers can watch it as a video on the channel. This applies to live streams generally; YouTube does not provide a separate guarantee that every gaming broadcast will have a replay. YouTube Help: Learn about live streams.

The creator did not retain or post it
A replay appears on a channel only if the channel posts or retains it. Check the channel’s Videos section and live-stream archive listing; the absence of a public replay does not by itself show whether a recording exists privately.

The stream exceeded 12 hours
YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured. If the gaming broadcast ran beyond that threshold, there may be no YouTube archive to watch.
The archive is not public
Creators can change an archive’s visibility in YouTube Studio. Public videos are generally discoverable on the channel; private or unlisted videos may not appear there for everyone. YouTube Help: manage live stream settings.

Replay versus DVR: what viewers can do
DVR applies while a stream is live: it lets viewers pause or seek backward during the broadcast. For very long streams, DVR may be limited or unavailable, and viewers cannot seek to a point before the stream began. If the creator disables DVR, viewers cannot rewind during the live stream, but YouTube says they can still see a recording of the entire stream once it becomes available. So, being unable to rewind a live gaming stream does not mean its later replay is disabled. The archive and live DVR are separate.

If you are the creator and the replay is missing
- In YouTube Studio, open Content and select the Live tab. Check whether the archive exists and review its visibility settings. YouTube Help: archive live streams.
- Check the stream’s duration. Automatic archiving guidance applies to streams shorter than 12 hours; longer streams may not be captured.
- For future broadcasts, keep a local recording as a backup. YouTube’s creator guidance recommends maintaining a local archive and checking that the local file is growing during the stream. YouTube Help: live streaming tips.
