Not generally through the named products covered here. As of October 7, 2026, xStocks says it excludes U.S. residents and U.S. persons, and Ondo Stocks says it is for eligible non-U.S. persons outside the United States. A new SEC exemption creates a limited route for certain venues, but it does not establish that a particular product is open to you.
What does “tokenized stock” mean?
A tokenized security is a financial instrument—such as a stock, bond, or fund interest—that is formatted as, or represented by, a crypto asset recorded on a blockchain or similar distributed ledger, according to Investor.gov.

The label alone does not tell you what you legally own. A token may represent a security held through an intermediary or an entitlement tied to that security; its terms determine the holder’s rights and legal relationship to the underlying asset. Do not assume that a token carries the same ownership, voting, dividend, custody, transfer, or redemption rights as a share held in an ordinary brokerage account.

On September 17, 2026, the SEC announced temporary, conditional exemptive relief—called the “Innovation Exemption”—for Tokenized Securities Venues to trade tokenized National Market System (NMS) stock through specified permissioned automated market makers and liquidity pools. The SEC announcement describes a limited pathway subject to conditions, not blanket permission for every platform or a guarantee of retail access.

The existence of the exemption and the status of a particular venue are separate matters. Before relying on it, confirm that the venue and product are actually operating under the relevant framework and that they accept your state and account type.
Are xStocks and Ondo Stocks available to U.S. residents?

These are the providers’ stated terms on the date above; eligibility can change. Check the product’s current terms rather than inferring access from a company announcement, a token’s visibility, or its technical transferability.

What should you verify before using any tokenized-stock offering?
Check the specific product and your own circumstances before depositing funds or attempting a trade:

- Instrument: Determine whether the token is the security itself or represents an entitlement or economic exposure, and read the legal terms.
- Customer eligibility: Confirm that your state, residency, investor category, and account type are accepted.
- Intermediaries and custody: Identify the trading venue, broker-dealer, and custody arrangements involved.
- Rights and mechanics: Review voting, dividend, transfer, and redemption terms.
- Trading conditions: Check trading hours, liquidity, and applicable fees.
Do not treat access to a wallet, a displayed token balance, or the ability to send a token as confirmation of either legal eligibility or the rights attached to the instrument.
