Embark says any ARC Raiders account caught cheating will receive a permanent ban, with “no warnings, no second chances.” That describes the penalty once cheating is established—not an instant ban for every suspicious-looking action. Embark says it checks behavior across multiple instances before acting, to reduce the risk of punishing legitimate players.
What Embark’s no-warning rule means
In an announcement dated September 30, 2026, ARC Raiders Executive Producer Aleksander Grøndal said permanent bans are now standard for known cheat programs and that any account caught using cheats is permanently banned. The announcement describes this as the policy for cheating; it does not say every kind of rule violation receives a permanent ban.

Embark’s Help Center, last updated February 26, 2026, says sanctions for violations can be temporary or permanent depending on severity. It lists cheats, hacks, gameplay-affecting tools, anti-cheat bypasses, exploits, boosting, and account sales or sharing among possible grounds for action. The September announcement is the newer, more specific statement about cheating. Embark’s ban guidance also notes that external software interacting with the game may trigger an anti-cheat violation, including software used unintentionally.

Why a ban may not happen immediately
Embark says it does not ban someone as soon as one signal looks suspicious. Its systems assess behavior across multiple instances to build confidence before issuing a permanent ban. Grøndal said, “Anti-cheat systems can’t ban a player the moment something looks suspicious.” The studio has not published a fixed waiting period or the thresholds it uses, so players should not assume a particular delay means a report was ignored—or that an immediate sanction follows every suspicious signal.

Embark describes its current detection approach as a combination of Denuvo kernel-level protection, detections from Anybrain, and in-house models that use machine learning and other data. These are Embark’s descriptions of its own systems, not independently verified technical findings. The studio has also described Elytra as being tested on a small scale in THE FINALS while work toward a future ARC Raiders test continues; that is a plan, not confirmation that Elytra is already deployed in ARC Raiders. Account bans, game-copy restrictions, and hardware bans are different
Embark describes several possible layers of enforcement. A permanent account ban prevents the sanctioned account from playing. Separately, the studio says a game copy tied to a sanction cannot be used with another account, and accounts that have ever been associated with a banned copy also receive a permanent ban. These restrictions are distinct from a hardware ban, which may prevent the game from running on a machine when Embark has enough evidence that the machine was used for cheating.
Embark said a broader solution aimed at almost all detected systems was a goal for later in 2026. That statement should not be read as confirmation that such broad hardware enforcement is already complete or that every suspected system is blocked.
How to appeal an ARC Raiders ban
If you believe your ban was issued in error, Embark provides an appeal route through its Support site. Its May 2026 post says each appeal is reviewed by a person.
- Log in to Embark Support using your Embark ID.
- Choose Ban Appeals, then In-Game Ban.
- Include the ban message and relevant context explaining why you believe the sanction is incorrect.
Embark’s May 7, 2026 anti-cheat post describes an earlier snapshot of its systems, including Easy Anti-Cheat kernel-level protection and telemetry-trained machine-learning models. It also says the studio uses telemetry and communication patterns to distinguish legitimate accessibility-device use from abuse. Using an accessibility device by itself is not proof of cheating. Embark also targets players who coordinate before a raid to enter the same solo lobby and attack solo players. The studio distinguishes that pre-raid queue coordination from teaming with someone encountered during a raid through proximity chat, which it says remains allowed.

After five days of separating groups it identified as queue-teamers, Embark reported 85% fewer players engaging in the behavior and a drop in spoiled raids from around one in 50 to one in 300, with no meaningful effect on queue times. Those are Embark’s own reported measurements; the cited announcement does not provide independent verification. Embark’s update explains its enforcement and reported results.
