Move with stamina in reserve, carry gear you can afford to lose, use sound to read nearby danger, and leave when the loot you have is worth protecting.
How a raid works
ARC Raiders is a multiplayer extraction adventure. You deploy to a dangerous surface, scavenge while dealing with mechanized ARC enemies and other Raiders, then try to reach extraction with your haul. The official site describes cross-platform social play on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. ARC Raiders’ official site

Think of each deployment as a sequence: choose what you are willing to risk, move through the surface with a purpose, respond to threats, and extract before the situation or your supplies turn against you. Loot you are carrying is not secured until you get out. That makes extraction part of the objective from the start, not an afterthought.

Move without spending all your stamina
An unofficial beginner guide recommends holstering your weapon while traveling, avoiding constant sprinting, and keeping an eye on how much you carry. Treat those as practical habits rather than fixed numerical rules: the guide does not establish exact movement penalties or control bindings. Beginner tips for ARC Raiders

- TRIFORCE TITANIUM 50 MM DRIVERS — Our cutting-edge proprietary design divides the driver into 3 parts for the individual tuning of highs, mids, and lows—producing brighter, clearer audio with richer highs and more powerful lows
- HYPERCLEAR CARDIOID MIC — An improved pickup pattern ensures more voice and less noise as it tapers off towards the mic’s back and sides, with the sweet spot easily placed at the mouth because of the mic’s bendable design
- ADVANCED PASSIVE NOISE CANCELLATION — Sturdy closed earcups fully cover the ears to prevent noise from leaking into the headset, with its cushions providing a closer seal for more sound isolation
- LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN WITH MEMORY FOAM EAR CUSHIONS — At just 240 g, the headset features thicker headband padding and memory foam ear cushions with leatherette to keep gaming in peak form during grueling tournaments and training sessions
- WORKS WITH WINDOWS SONIC — Make the most of the headset’s powerful drivers by pairing it with lifelike surround sound that places audio with pinpoint accuracy, heightening in-game awareness and immersion
- Save sprinting for a reason. Use it to cross exposed ground, escape danger, or reach cover rather than spending it throughout an uneventful route.
- Keep a mobility reserve. Emptying stamina just to move faster can leave you with fewer options if a threat appears.
- Think before taking extra weight. Leave room for loot that matters instead of filling your carrying capacity with low-value finds.
Traversal can change with updates. The Frozen Trail preview from PC Gamer describes a grapple hook and new choices in mobility-related skill branches, including options affecting vaulting and sprint movement. Choose gear as a risk budget
Bring equipment that supports the outing and that you are willing to lose. A weapon or item is not automatically a good choice for a beginner just because it is available; consider the threat you expect, its carrying burden, and whether it helps you get out. The available guidance does not establish a universally best starter weapon or fixed optimal pack, so there is no one loadout to copy for every raid.

Use a sound cue as information, not as a command to fight. Depending on your health, supplies, position, and goal, you might reposition, avoid the area, prepare for an encounter, or start moving toward extraction. Listening carefully is a useful habit; a particular headset is not an established requirement.

Before engaging an enemy, consider what the fight gains and what it could cost. A fight might clear a route or protect valuable loot, but it can also consume supplies, expose your position, or draw additional threats. Make the decision based on the raid you are actually in rather than treating either combat or avoidance as a universal rule.

Extract before “one more” becomes a bad trade
Extraction is what secures the value of a raid. The beginner guide recommends leaving early rather than letting another container or fight turn a worthwhile haul into a total loss. There is no universally safest extraction point or timing established by the available guidance, so judge the situation you can see rather than following a fixed rule.
On the way out, weigh what you are carrying against your health and remaining supplies, the threats nearby, and the risk of the route. If the haul is already worth protecting, do not let a small chance at extra loot outweigh the possibility of losing all of it.
What changed with Frozen Trail
The official ARC Raiders site lists Frozen Trail as live from October 8, 2026. ARC Raiders’ official site PC Gamer’s preview describes a grapple hook and changes to mobility-related skill choices.
