Instead of Silex
Silex alternatives
Silex combines a visual editor for static websites with CMS integrations and several publishing routes. Its free cloud option publishes through GitLab Pages with custom domains and automatic CI/CD builds; it also supports FTP/SFTP, ZIP downloads and CapRover. WordPress, Directus, Squidex and GraphQL APIs can supply content. The open-source builder is free, and self-hosted GitLab CE has no user or storage limits. Its cloud option inherits GitLab’s limits of five users per private group, 400 CI/CD minutes monthly per namespace and 10 GB total storage. The desktop app is early alpha, though it can edit offline and publish to a local folder.

Alternatives suit different priorities: hosted builders, WordPress-focused design, or content systems with editorial workflows and multilingual content. Compare whether you want Silex’s static-site workflow and deployment flexibility or a different publishing model, plus the domains, hosting, content tools and platform support each option provides. Free plans differ in their limits, and paid pricing varies; check which constraints matter before moving a site.
