Panasonic SD Card File Recovery Software is a free utility for attempting to restore footage accidentally deleted from an SD memory card. Its stated scope is specific: the footage must have been recorded with Panasonic AVCCAM equipment and deleted using AVCCAM equipment. Panasonic lists Windows XP, Vista, and 7, as well as Intel Macs running Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, or 10.6. The Windows download is 695,501 bytes; the Mac OS X download is 626,712 bytes. Footage removed using CARD FORMAT on AVCCAM equipment is typically not recoverable, subject to exceptions for certain recordings and cards, and Panasonic notes that some footage cannot be restored. A recovered card requires one repair with the separately provided AVCCAM restorer to become an AVCHD-compatible card. For an AG-AF100 series device connected by USB, Panasonic specifies device version 1.14 or higher and recovery software version 1.1 or higher. The license permits one backup copy and prohibits other copying, modification, transfer, and reverse engineering. It limits use to SD card usage with Panasonic AVCHD products and disclaims warranties and liability for damages or losses related to use or inability to use the software.
