What Open Prompter is

Open Prompter turns Markdown files into teleprompter scripts on iOS. It reads .md and .markdown files from a folder you choose, such as iCloud Drive, an Obsidian vault, Dropbox, or another location the Files app can access, and can write edits back to the files on your device. While you read, the front camera can record a take and save it beside the script. On-device speech recognition moves the page to the last words spoken, with audio staying on the phone. Recorded markers can include a QuickTime chapter track and an Adobe XMP marker track that Premiere Pro reads as timeline markers. The SwiftUI app requires iOS 17 or later and is free, with no subscription or in-app purchases. Its source code is available under the MIT License.
