Instead of Learning with Texts
Learning with Texts alternatives
Learning with Texts suits learners who bring their own reading and want vocabulary practice tied to the text. It splits uploaded texts into sentences and words, carries saved terms and their learning statuses into later reading, and supports translations, optional romanization, example sentences, term and context tests, and statistics. You can connect an MP3 URL to a text, configure dictionary links, and export terms to TSV or Anki. It is free and works in a browser, but requires a local web and database server with PHP; Unicode characters above U+FFFF, including emojis, are unsupported.

Alternatives may fit better if you want a different route into reading, audio, or review. Some add mobile apps, broader import options, synchronized video or podcast transcripts, or vocabulary features such as spaced repetition and contextual explanations. Others keep a self-hosted setup while changing how terms and dictionaries work. Compare the material you want to study, the devices you use, and whether you prefer local server installation or a mobile service. Also weigh paid-plan costs where given, and check whether an alternative's language, audio, and import support matches your routine.
