Pack the Apple devices you expect to use, the cables and charger that work with them, and—if you need power away from an outlet—a power bank that meets your airline’s rules. For international trips, check both the destination’s plug shape and the input rating on your charger. Spare lithium batteries and power banks belong in cabin baggage, not checked luggage.
Choose devices around the trip
Start with the jobs you need to do, not a full inventory of Apple products. An iPhone may cover tickets, communication, and navigation. Add an iPad or Mac if the itinerary calls for work or a larger screen; bring a Watch, headphones, or another device only if you expect to use it. This is a practical packing approach, not a universal device checklist.

Build a charging kit that fits your devices
Match cables to the exact devices
Write down each device and the cable or charging method it needs. Apple documents USB-C to Lightning cable support for compatible iPhone, iPad, AirPods, AirPods Pro, and iPod touch devices, but that does not mean one cable covers every Apple product or generation. Check the connector on each device you plan to pack. Apple’s cable and adapter guidance describes compatible use cases.

Check the charger as well as the cable
Apple USB power adapters are designed for 100–240V AC at 50–60Hz. That specification applies to Apple USB power adapters; do not assume it applies to every third-party charger or to every electronic device. Apple says compliant third-party adapters can be used with Apple devices. Check the input markings and requirements for your own charger and devices before travel. Apple’s adapter guidance explains the relevant specifications.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose a charger with enough compatible ports for the devices you expect to charge, and consider its size and weight against your packing priorities. These are selection criteria, not a ranking of particular chargers or a claim about charging speed.
Prepare for different outlets abroad
A plug adapter changes how a compatible charger fits a destination’s outlet; it is not, by itself, a voltage converter. Apple says its World Travel Adapter Kit can be used in most countries and regions with compatible Apple power adapters. Check the outlet type at your destination and confirm the input rating on the specific charger you will use. Apple’s World Travel Adapter Kit guide describes its compatibility.

Pack power banks and spare batteries in your cabin bag
The FAA’s passenger guidance for U.S. air travel says spare lithium batteries—including power banks and portable chargers—cannot go in checked baggage. Its rechargeable-battery limits are:

One-click scans. No signup required.
| Battery capacity | FAA passenger guidance |
|---|---|
| 0–100 Wh | Allowed |
| 101–160 Wh | Requires approval from the air carrier |
| Above 160 Wh | Forbidden |
These thresholds come from the FAA’s lithium-battery passenger guidance. Airlines may impose stricter limits on capacity or quantity, and rules can vary by itinerary, so check your carrier’s current requirements before flying. Use the watt-hour rating printed on the battery or its documentation when checking eligibility; do not assume a power bank is permitted just because it is small.

Apple says Airplane Mode can turn off mobile data and Wi-Fi on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro, and may help save battery and lower roaming charges while traveling. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth use during a flight depends on airline permission; follow the crew’s instructions. If the airline permits it, Apple says Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can still be used in Airplane Mode. Apple’s Airplane Mode guidance explains the setting.
