Who qualifies for the Apple Music student discount?
Apple says the offer is for verified students at a degree-granting college or university who are studying for an associate degree, bachelor’s degree, postgraduate degree, or equivalent higher-education qualification. It is not a general student discount, so enrollment in secondary school or a short course alone is not established as qualifying. See Apple’s eligibility guidance.

How to sign up and verify your student status
New subscribers can enroll in the Apple Music app or use Apple’s student signup page. Have your Apple Account login and a valid payment method ready; you may also need student ID or access to your student email. Apple’s verification method can vary by location and case.
- Open Apple Music on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Android device.
- Go to Home and select the offer shown.
- Choose Student.
- Select Verify Student Status and follow the on-screen prompts.
- After verification, continue through the prompts to start any trial for which you are eligible and subscribe with your Apple Account.
If you already subscribe to Apple Music, use Apple’s plan-change instructions rather than creating a second account.

What does the student plan cost, and what is included?
Apple’s US page lists the Student plan at $6.99 per month as checked on October 5, 2026. The US page also lists one month free for new subscribers; Apple says trials are for new subscribers and limited to one trial per person. Confirm the current offer and local price on Apple’s page before subscribing, because prices and availability differ by country.
For comparison, Apple’s Canada page lists the Student plan at C$5.99 per month as checked on October 5, 2026. These are country-specific prices, not a universal rate.

The student subscription includes Apple Music’s individual-member features and Apple TV content access at no extra cost for a limited time. The student plan is available for up to 48 months, and Apple requires student-status re-verification once a year. Apple emails you when verification is due; you can complete it in Apple Music, device Settings, or on the web. If you remain eligible but do not re-verify during the verification period, Apple says the subscription renews at the individual-plan rate. The same change applies when you are no longer a student or have reached 48 months on the student plan. Apple Support states: “If you’re a verified student enrolled in a degree-granting university, you can subscribe to Apple Music at a discounted monthly rate for up to 48 months.”

What if student verification is stuck?
If a new subscriber’s review is pending, Apple says to tap Get Help on the verification screen to contact SheerID. If the verification is handled through UNiDAYS, contact UNiDAYS Support. Apple also provides an Alipay support route where applicable. The provider and available support options can vary by location.
