The iPhone 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 are compact flagship phones with 6.3-inch, up-to-120Hz displays, but their published specs point to different priorities: Xiaomi lists a larger-capacity battery, faster charging figures and three 50MP rear cameras, while Apple offers more listed storage tiers. There is no substantiated worldwide price difference to quote: prices depend on country, configuration and seller, and the available price comparison is for Xiaomi 17 versus the base iPhone 17—not the iPhone 17 Pro.
iPhone 17 Pro vs Xiaomi 17: specification comparison
The figures below come from Apple’s regional iPhone 17 Pro specifications and Xiaomi’s global Xiaomi 17 specifications. Regional models may differ; Xiaomi specifically cautions that network, Wi-Fi and SIM details can vary. Brightness figures use each manufacturer’s own terminology, so they are not a direct laboratory comparison.

What the display specifications mean
Both phones have a display listed at 6.3 inches and support refresh rates up to 120Hz. Xiaomi publishes the higher resolution—2656 × 1220 compared with Apple’s 2622 × 1206—and a 1Hz minimum refresh rate. Apple describes its peak-brightness figure as outdoor peak brightness; Xiaomi calls its figure multi-scenario peak brightness. Because these are differently qualified manufacturer figures, the numbers alone do not establish which screen is brighter in a like-for-like test.

Battery and charging: Xiaomi lists higher capacity and charging rates
Xiaomi specifies a 6330mAh typical-capacity battery, 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge for Xiaomi 17. The cited Apple specifications do not provide comparable battery-capacity or charging-rate figures. Capacity and charging wattage do not establish how long a phone lasts in everyday use or how quickly it charges under all conditions; no controlled head-to-head endurance or charging test is available here.
Camera hardware: listed megapixels are not a quality verdict
Xiaomi lists three 50MP rear cameras—a main camera, telephoto and ultrawide—alongside Leica-branded lens features, and video recording up to 8K at 30fps. The cited Apple source excerpt does not provide enough detail for an equivalent camera-specification comparison. These specifications therefore do not support naming either phone the better camera; image quality also depends on factors such as processing, optics and performance across shooting conditions.

Chip, storage and ecosystem
Apple lists its A19 Pro chip and three storage choices: 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. Xiaomi’s global page lists Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 256GB or 512GB configurations with 12GB RAM. If you keep a large photo or video library on the phone, the listed 1TB iPhone option is relevant; check the local Xiaomi lineup before assuming a configuration is available in your market.
The chip names do not, by themselves, settle which phone is faster for your own apps or workload. Consider the operating system and services you already use, how you move files between devices, and your preferred app ecosystem. The cited specifications do not establish comparable software-support periods, so check each manufacturer’s current regional support information if update longevity is a deciding factor.

Price difference: compare local prices, not mismatched models
A reliable price gap cannot be stated without a country, storage tier and seller. The independent comparison available for this topic is Xiaomi 17 versus the base iPhone 17, not Xiaomi 17 versus iPhone 17 Pro; its prices should not be carried over to this comparison.
For a useful comparison, check current prices in your country for the same storage tier where both are sold, and distinguish manufacturer list prices from carrier offers and retailer promotions. If one phone is not sold locally through an official channel, note whether the alternative is an import and account for warranty coverage and network compatibility.

Check regional availability and network compatibility
Xiaomi warns that network, Wi-Fi and SIM details can vary by region. Before buying, confirm the precise model number and local specifications, then check that its supported cellular bands and SIM setup match your carrier. Also verify that the phone is officially available where you live and what local warranty applies. Apple’s cited technical page is regional as well, so use the specifications for the market where you plan to purchase.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose iPhone 17 Pro if
- You prefer Apple’s operating system and services or already use other Apple devices.
- You want the option of 1TB storage, which is listed for iPhone 17 Pro but not on Xiaomi’s cited global page.
- You value Apple’s published IP68 protection specification, including its stated test conditions.
Choose Xiaomi 17 if
- You prefer Xiaomi’s ecosystem and the Android experience it offers.
- You prioritize the battery capacity and charging rates Xiaomi publishes, while recognizing that those figures do not prove longer real-world battery life.
- You want the listed three-camera 50MP rear setup, subject to checking independent camera tests for the kinds of photos and video you take.
Before deciding, compare same-tier local prices and confirm the regional variant’s network support. The published specifications describe meaningful differences, but they do not establish an overall winner without your price, compatibility and usage context.
