Which phone has the better screen?
The Xiaomi 17T has the larger panel: 6.59 inches compared with the iPhone 15’s 6.1 inches. Xiaomi lists 2756 × 1268 resolution and a maximum 120Hz refresh rate. Apple lists 2556 × 1179 resolution and 460 pixels per inch for the iPhone 15, but its supplied specification does not state a high refresh rate. That means the Xiaomi is the clearer fit if screen size and a stated high refresh rate are priorities; it does not establish a full display-quality winner.

Size and handling
At 171g, the iPhone 15 is 29g lighter than the Xiaomi 17T at 200g, and its smaller display also makes it the more compact option of these two. That difference is relevant if one-handed use, pocket comfort or lower weight matters. The Xiaomi gives up some portability in exchange for a larger viewing area.
Camera hardware: everyday range or longer reach?
Apple specifies a 48MP main camera and describes a 2x telephoto option on the iPhone 15. Xiaomi lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto camera with OIS, and a 12MP ultra-wide. On paper, Xiaomi offers more dedicated long-range telephoto hardware; the iPhone offers a simpler camera system with a 2x option.

Megapixel counts and lens specifications do not prove which phone takes better photographs or video. No matched camera testing is available here, so image quality, low-light results and video performance should not be inferred from the hardware list alone.
Performance, battery and charging
Performance
The iPhone 15 uses Apple’s A16 Bionic; the Xiaomi 17T uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500-Ultra. These chip names identify the hardware, not a benchmark result. There is no head-to-head performance testing here to establish which is faster for a particular game, sustained workload or everyday task.

Battery and charging
Xiaomi lists a 6500mAh typical battery and 67W HyperCharge for the 17T. Its global specifications say a power adapter is not included and recommend a Xiaomi 67W adapter or above for the stated charging capability. Apple confirms USB-C for the iPhone 15, but the sources used here do not provide a comparable battery capacity or charging wattage. Capacity and charging specifications alone cannot establish which lasts longer in real use; no matched battery or charging tests were conducted.
Price difference: what can be established?
A current price gap cannot be calculated from the available official figures. Apple announced a U.S. starting price of $799 for the iPhone 15 in 2023; that historical launch price is not its current street price. Xiaomi’s official global specifications page does not state a price. Without a specified country, retailer, date and matching storage capacity, any present-day difference would be misleading.

For a useful local comparison, check the same storage tier—256GB is listed for both—and record the currency, seller, date and whether each listing is a sale or regular price. Also verify warranty coverage, local stock and the precise network/model variant, because Xiaomi availability and features can vary by region.
Which should you choose?
- Choose the iPhone 15 if you want a smaller, lighter phone and prefer iOS or Apple’s ecosystem.
- Choose the Xiaomi 17T if you prefer Android and prioritize a larger 120Hz display, the listed 5x periscope telephoto hardware or faster stated charging.
- Compare local offers before deciding on value. A current price verdict needs matched storage and dated prices in your market.
