Neither chip is a universal benchmark winner in the available published results. 91mobiles lists higher Geekbench scores for Apple’s A19 Pro, while its AnTuTu total is slightly higher for MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400. Those figures come from platform-specific samples, not a controlled test of both chips in otherwise identical phones. For a buying decision, compare the complete handsets and the workloads that matter to you.
How do the published benchmark scores compare?
91mobiles reports these results for the two processors. They are useful as a snapshot, not guaranteed scores for every phone: handset design, cooling, software, and benchmark conditions can affect results.

| Benchmark | Apple A19 Pro | MediaTek Dimensity 9400 |
|---|---|---|
| Geekbench single-core | 3,834 | 2,819 |
| Geekbench multi-core | 9,921 | 8,515 |
| AnTuTu total | 2,521,699 | 2,537,181 |
91mobiles’ comparison page lists the A19 Pro ahead in both Geekbench categories and the Dimensity 9400 a little ahead in AnTuTu. A total score combines multiple test areas, so it should not be treated as a direct substitute for CPU or graphics results.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400
MediaTek specifies an all-big-core CPU: one Arm Cortex-X925 core running at up to 3.62 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. The listed cache is 12 MB L3 and 10 MB system-level. Its official specification page describes a flagship 5G system-on-chip and lists an Arm Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU.

Apple A19 Pro
Tom’s Guide identifies the A19 Pro as the processor in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, and reports six CPU cores and six GPU cores for those phones. The available sources do not provide a like-for-like full CPU specification comparison with the Dimensity core layout, so core counts alone should not be used to declare an overall winner.
For short, lightly threaded tasks, single-core benchmark results are one relevant indicator; multi-core results are more relevant to work that can use several CPU cores at once. Neither number by itself captures responsiveness across different operating systems and apps.

Why do A19 Pro scores vary between reports?
Tom’s Guide measured the iPhone 17 Pro at 3,834 single-core and 9,988 multi-core in Geekbench 6. Its iPhone 17 Pro Max results were 3,871 and 9,968. These are device-specific results and should not be blended with scores from another source into one definitive ranking. The multi-core scores, for example, differ from 91mobiles’ listed A19 Pro score.

Tom’s Guide also lists 46.6 frames per second for both iPhone models in its 3DMark Solar Bay Unlimited results table; its article prose rounds the result to 46.4 fps. This is useful context for those tested iPhones, but it does not compare A19 Pro graphics directly with Dimensity 9400 graphics under the same test conditions.

What features does Dimensity 9400 support?
MediaTek’s official Dimensity 9400 specifications list LPDDR5X memory support up to 10,667 Mbps, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and video decode up to 8K60. The page also names the Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU. These are chip-level capabilities: a manufacturer’s phone design determines which supported features are actually implemented and exposed on a particular handset.
MediaTek says the Dimensity 9400 offers up to 35% higher single-core performance, up to 28% higher multi-core performance, up to 41% higher peak GPU performance, and up to 40% higher ray-tracing performance than its previous-generation Dimensity flagship. Those are vendor comparisons against the preceding Dimensity generation, not claims of an advantage over A19 Pro. MediaTek also calls it the only flagship 5G smartphone chip offering the latest Armv9.2 CPU advantage; that is the company’s own product statement, not an independent industry-wide finding.

Which chip is better for gaming, battery life, or sustained workloads?
The cited results do not establish a matched-device comparison for graphics performance, long gaming sessions, heat, power use, or battery runtime. Peak benchmark performance cannot answer whether a phone will sustain that speed after warming up, and a chip’s manufacturing process or vendor efficiency claim alone does not establish battery life.

- Gaming: Look for graphics tests run on the specific phones you are considering, plus sustained or long-session results. The A19 Pro 3DMark result above is for tested iPhone models and is not a cross-chip head-to-head.
- Battery life: Use handset-level battery testing for the exact model. Screen, battery capacity, modem, cooling, software, and usage all affect runtime.
- Heavy parallel work: Multi-core scores offer one reference point, but app behavior and sustained performance matter too.
Which phones use these chips?
The A19 Pro is found in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max cited in Tom’s Guide’s testing. 91mobiles associates Dimensity 9400 with models including the vivo X200 and X200 Pro, and OPPO Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. Availability and exact configurations can vary by market; verify the processor in the specific regional model before buying.
These are components inside phones, not standalone products. Compare the handset’s software support, camera implementation, connectivity, display, battery, price, and size alongside processor performance. A chip comparison alone cannot establish which phone is the better purchase.
Quick Recap
How to interpret the comparison
- For the 91mobiles figures, A19 Pro leads the listed Geekbench single-core and multi-core scores.
- In the same comparison, Dimensity 9400 has a marginally higher listed AnTuTu total.
- The scores come from different phone platforms rather than a controlled matched-device test, so use them as reported results rather than guaranteed rankings.
- For gaming, battery, heat, and sustained speed, seek results for the exact handsets and test conditions you care about.
