Where to unlock Hookshot
Look for the Warrior quest under The Legend of Helmuts and Helgons in Russet Highlands. Two walkthroughs place the unlock in this quest; one says to speak with Sorora, the painter beside an easel, to begin. Use the quest Log and active marker to guide you, since exact route details may differ from what you see in-game. Nerd’s Chalk’s walkthrough and GameLeap’s walkthrough describe the sequence.

Nerd’s Chalk reports that you need to be level 45 or higher. GameLeap describes the region as level 44–50 but does not independently confirm that exact level gate, so treat level 45 as a guide-reported requirement rather than a verified universal threshold.
How to complete the unlock quest
- Track the Warrior quest. In the Log, find it under The Legend of Helmuts and Helgons in Russet Highlands. If you have not started it, look for Sorora beside her easel, as described by the walkthroughs.
- Catch a Helmut. Follow the marked capture area and keep one available for the summit objective; you will need to twine with it.
- Follow the mountain clues. Continue through the quest markers, which the guides describe leading to a Weeping Helmut at ruins and further encounters involving Helmut, red crystals, and markings. Let the Log’s current objective determine your route rather than relying on unverified coordinates.
- Break the Dragonclaw Stone. At the summit, twine with Helmut and use its action on the stone. The walkthroughs say this reveals the Sword of Bravery.
- Pull the Sword of Bravery. Interact with the sword and choose to pull it out. The guides report that this triggers Helmut’s special evolution into Pawney.
- Check Pawney’s mobility skills. Select Pawney and look for Hookshot in its skill list.
How to use Hookshot
The ability reference describes Hookshot as: “Stretch your arm toward the center of view. Pull yourself to walls or enemies on hit. Hold skill button to aim.” In practice, hold the skill button to aim from the center of your view; a successful hit on a wall or enemy pulls you toward it. The reference lists a 10-second cooldown. AniimoVerse’s Pawney ability reference provides the skill description and cooldown.

The available guides do not establish exact keyboard or controller mappings, Hookshot range, which surfaces are eligible, or what a failed attempt looks like. Check the current in-game controls and feedback rather than assuming a particular button or that every surface can be targeted. A separate GameLeap movement guide also describes the hold-to-aim action and notes these limits.

- Confirm the evolution: Hookshot is associated with Pawney, so having a Helmut without completing the sword interaction is not enough.
- Check the quest objective: Follow the active Log marker through the mountain sequence; do not skip ahead based on a route description if your objective differs.
- Verify the selected Aniimo: Select Pawney and inspect its mobility skills.
- Use in-game control prompts: Exact button mappings and target rules are not established in the available ability references.
The official Aniimo site does not publish a quest walkthrough, so the unlock steps above reflect the two guide walkthroughs rather than official quest documentation.
