If an Android scrolling screenshot stops before the bottom of a webpage, first check which capture flow your phone uses. On Android 12 and later, Google’s documented method is to take a screenshot, tap Capture more, and adjust the crop guides. On a Galaxy phone, enable the screenshot toolbar and use Scroll Capture; press and hold its icon to continue. These features cover most—but not all—scrollable screens, and the page’s content can affect how far a capture advances.
Check which scrolling screenshot feature your phone uses
Android phones do not all use the same scrolling-capture controls. Start with the option that matches your device:

- Android’s Capture more: Google documents this for devices running Android 12 and up, on most screens that allow scrolling. The control may not appear for every app or page. Google Android Help: Take a screenshot or record your screen.
- Samsung Galaxy’s Scroll Capture: Samsung’s workflow uses a toolbar that appears after a screenshot. You tap Scroll Capture and hold its icon to continue down the page. Samsung Support: How to use Scroll Capture on a Galaxy smartphone.
First make sure the webpage itself scrolls normally. Then take a screenshot and look for the relevant control. If neither workflow fits your phone, use the manufacturer’s support guidance for your specific model rather than assuming that every Android device has the same feature.

Use Capture more on Android 12 and later
- Open the webpage and scroll it normally to confirm that more content is available below.
- Press Power + Volume Down to take a screenshot.
- If the screen supports the feature, tap Capture more.
- Adjust the crop guides to include the portion of the page you want, then save the screenshot using the on-screen controls.
Google’s instructions say the steps work on Android 12 and up for “most screens that allow you to scroll.” If Capture more does not appear, or the result still ends early, the page or app may not support this capture flow. The Google guidance does not provide a universal workaround for unsupported screens.

Check and use Scroll Capture on a Galaxy
Make the screenshot toolbar available
- Open Settings.
- Go to Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder.
- Turn on Show toolbar after capturing.
Samsung notes that some devices may label this menu Screen capture instead.
Continue the screenshot down the page
- Open the webpage and take a screenshot while viewing a scrollable part of it.
- Tap Scroll Capture on the toolbar.
- Press and hold the Scroll Capture icon to keep moving farther down the page.
- Tap outside the toolbar when you have captured enough, then open the saved image in Gallery to check where it ends.
Samsung says the scroll length can vary with the content. Its New Zealand support instructions also identify embedded players and large images as examples of page content that can affect how far each advance moves. That makes page content a sensible variable to check, but it does not prove that a particular element caused your screenshot to stop. Samsung also says saved Scroll Capture images are resized. Work out whether the page or the phone is the variable
- Try the same capture flow on another ordinary webpage that scrolls. If it continues there but not on the first page, the difference may be related to that page or app; this comparison alone does not identify the cause.
- Check the saved screenshot in Photos or Gallery rather than relying only on the capture preview. Note the last heading, image, or other visible content included.
- If the control is missing or capture stops on multiple pages, record your phone’s make and model, Android version, and (for a Galaxy) One UI version.
- Note the browser or app and whether the issue occurs on other scrollable screens. Give these details to the phone manufacturer’s support team if the documented steps do not work.
A mid-page stop by itself does not establish whether the cause is feature support, page content, or a device-specific issue. Google recommends contacting the phone manufacturer if its screenshot steps do not work. The official guidance does not provide a numerical maximum capture length or a failure rate.
